As someone who has an RS7 in their driveway and people call that car a deal at $105K, the Hellcat(s) are the best deal since you could buy a Aston DB9 for the same price of a 911 years ago...
Great if you want to go in a straight line I guess.

Dodge: to avoid an encounter with.

Would be cool if the car turns out to be the modern day equivalent of the late 60 Hemi engine cars. $58k for an overweight, poorly executed muscle car...nah.

The Hellcat has been to tracks many times for its testing. Its no Cayman, but its definitely capable on the track per third party testing.

Keep your misinformation and bias elsewhere

As someone who grew up in a dodge family and has seen mostly the shitty side of mopar i really want to hate the hellcat.

But 700 (underrated) hp, 7 year 100k powertrain warranty and 4 doors that blend into the crowd at around 60k.

With the surge in domestic oil production and gas prices sinking like a rock for the moment and hopefully remaining low for the next few years sign me the fuck up.

the challenger in the 2 door though i could give a shit about, the charger is the unique beast of the two.

Neither are track cars worth a damn, that isn't the point of them. Keep a car you don't mind putting into a wall, and that likely wont put you into the wall as a track toy.

People don't need to justify their purchases, nor should they feel the need to. If you don't care then you shouldn't have clicked on this thread. Congrats and hope that wait for the car doesn't kill you!

What's wrong with going fast in a straight line? My '02 Lightning ran 10.99 at Milan. Now that's a fun vehicle, when you eat up just about all comers off the line and then laugh as they try to catch you, with the aerodynamics of a brick.

Does not stack up well in any publication I could find. Ranks 5th behind Corvette, Mustang GT500, ZL1, and Z28 in car and drivers top 5.

It's a forum and afaik you can't produce any "test" results to refute that there are a lot faster cars with better pedigrees for around the same money.

I'll leave my bias right here thanks!

The 2015 Z7 Z06 is $30k more with limited production numbers (I can't order at a discount) and is the only other one on your list that I would consider. I'm not a fan of Mustangs and I've driven a ZL1 and wasn't overly impressed.

On a side note, no one can buy a car anymore just because they like it?

Poorly executed? You know this? You drove one?

Just driving my buddies older SRT8 impressed the hell out of me. Yeah, it's a pig. The thing has loads of grip, though. They made the suspension work extremely well for how big it is. The mammoth brakes provide wayyy more confidence than the OEM BRZ brakes.(not that you're comparing the two)
I really didn't get the impression that they slouched on the car. I'm sure the car has only gotten better over the years and the higher powered Hellcat couldn't be anything but a riot.
You sound a bit bitter and certainly biased.

Just noticed you compare it to the Corvette, GT500, ZL1, and Z28
The corvette is a low, small, sports car. He already has one of those.
GT500 is expensive as hell
ZL1 is pretty comparable but it's down on HP (fun factor) Plus, maybe he doesn't want to peer through the tiny slits that are the camaro's windows.
The Z28 is also expensive as hell.

Perhaps this guy will never be racing for the best times around a track but simply wants to have a blast on a daily basis in a nice, gorgeous, comfortable, hilarious, ridiculous, boat.
