I work at a dealership and just sounds like he wants the car out of there so they can hit a quota of some kind. Never heard of that before.

Someone please tell me what to do now... I feel like my salesmen fucked up, that's why he didn't let me pick it up next month.

Did they add in your registration fee's to the loan?

Some will add in enough to cover all your DMV fee's which is around a grand. If you bought the car, then yeah you'll be getting payments. Regardless whether it sits in their lot or your parents garage.

They said on Dec 1st the DMV will audit their inventory, and if they find a sold car they will receive a fine.

I haven't given my down payment yet but they said they have already sent my documents to the DMV to be processed. The only papers we signed were the ones agreeing on the interest rate and we are willing to buy the car. We haven't signed the final ok lets seal the deal paper.

Reason for my parents not complying to buy it before Nov 30th is because they said all the days before then are bad luck. (Asian Parents), and that Dec 7th is the best day to pick it up. Not super important but please if someone could shed some light on the DMV/Dealer side and which actions and options I have that would be great. Thanks guys.

So what papers did you sign? Maybe take a look at that paper that you says you are "willing to buy"?

From what it is sounding like, it may not be your salesman's fault. It's sounding like it may be that dealership's finance department made a mistake. The extra $1000 may possibly be GAP or extended warranty that either you or your parents agreed to if you or they went into finance to sign papers. If I were you, I'd double check all the documents you have signed to make sure it wasn't proof of sale or receipts.

Personally, if I were you, I would cancel that sale and call the Lien holder that is sending you a payment request and purchase the car from a different dealership and at the same time, explain the situation if you haven't signed a Bill of Sale.

The paperwork is itemized, all you have to do is read it to find out where the extra $1000 got added in. Could be legitimate expenses, could be weasely crap on the part of the dealership (service contract you didn't ask for, finance rate jacked up by a couple of percent, that sort of stuff).

The irony here is that dealerships get bonuses for reaching sales goals. NPR did a story last week about a Chrysler dealership; if they sold something like 30 cars in a month they got an $85,000 bonus (enough to cover losses from selling cars below cost). The dealership that was pressuring you to take delivery might have cut you a deal or thrown in some goodies (TRD exhaust, window tint, etc.) if you would have closed the deal.

I'm the one buying the car but my dad is going to represent as the buyer and I'm going to be the co signer to build my credit.

I already double checked all paper work, I did not sign anything about buying the car.
I'll find out tomorrow what's really going on.

Nah I didn't buy the car, DMV might be it but I think that was covered in the out the door price of 27 something already.

Wait, wut? The co-signer is the one with the good credit score, the person making the promise that the debt will be paid. WTF all around. Willing to bet a quarter the OP just bought a car with an insane interest rate. ETA: Making coffee, standing by for details!

Been trying to figure out what this is. I've had a number of vehicle purchases over the years, and I have never signed squat prior to the sale.

The Spot Delivery (or Yo-Yo Financing) Scam

Laws vary from state to state, but generally speaking, you either bought the car or you didn't. If you did buy the car -- you have a signed, legally-binding contract and the car is registered and insured in your name -- then the dealer must honor its terms. If you did not buy the car -- a true spot delivery without approved financing or transfer of ownership -- you can return if for a refund of your deposit and a return of your trade-in. It doesn't matter if you've been driving the new car; the dealer essentially loaned it to you, and that's his problem.

Alot of misinformation going around here based on whatever people think sounds right, aka bullshit.

1. DMV does send inspectors to lots. Mostly to make sure we have the titles to the vehicles that we are selling.
2. They probably wanted to hit a monthly quota which is why they wanted a 30th of Nov delivery.
3. HOWEVER, depending on their corporate policy, there may be some sliver of truth behind the facade. Our corporate office frowns on deals that are left open past the end of the month. By the end of the month every deal should be "turned" and funded.
