So finally after having my car for a few months i decided to give something a try to quiet the crickets..

Picked up some Lucas UCL and after a fresh fill and 20 miles the crickets are just about gone. Fuel system overall seems much quieter.

Going to see if it comes back after the next fillup without adding more UCL and see how often it needs to be done.

Upstate NY with 93 octane gas BTW

2015s still have Crickets

I've had my 2015 FR-S for about 3 weeks now. Let me start by telling everyone that this crickets are still here on the newest model. Started to hear them after I filled up my 2nd tank, around 300-350 miles.

I tried Lucas UCL with fresh tank of gas from Shell, did not help a bit.
Then I tried TCW3 with the next tank from Chevron, did not help a bit.
I don't have any gas station that are E0 around me.

Then I decided to take it to the dealership, got there and was told that they are aware of this issue and to bring it in for them to take a look. Couple of days later I brought it in and was told it will take about 3 hours to fix, took a shuttle home. 2 hours goes by and I get a phone call from the service adviser telling me that there is nothing they can do, he spoke to his mechanic and the mechanic said its working as intended. I told him that does not sound right and replace it anyway, his reply was sure if you pay for it... Then he said that my model does not have a TSB for that issue.

So the moral of the story is they still have not fixed the crickets.

Were all the tanks of gas ethanol free?
In the 4 months I have had mine I only had crickets for one tank worth and that was when I was too low and had to put some 10% in it.
Went right away once I used all that gas up.
You are correct though they will not change pumps on anything made after about Feb 2014.
It doesn't really do any good anyway according to most of the posts here so why bother.

Could be the colder temperatures in the NEO area, but I haven't heard the crickets in a few weeks.

Bought a 2015 FR-S about 6 weeks ago and just hit 900 miles....have not heard any cricket noises at all. Although I rarely drive without music. How noticeable is it when the music is on at a moderate volume? Also how often does the noise appear? So maybe tomorrow I can drive for a while in silence and listen to see if I can hear anything.

It seems that if i push it a bit it will start to chirp. Easy driving and staying under 2500 rpm seems to be the trick

Sent fabulously from a fabulous phablet in the hands of a fabulously dressed phantom with a fabulous phone...which is a fabulous phablet.

Depending on the temperature down there, you may not hear anything at all. And it isnt too noticeable with the windows up and music on, slightly moreso with the music off, and most noticeable if you have walls on one side or both of your car (like a drive-through).

Sit in a drive-thru with your windows down and music off. But really, if you have to go to the effort, it's already not worth it. You aren't noticing it now, you aren't having a problem.

Even if you do hear it, it's still not a problem. Annoying? Yes. Is there a resolution? Yes. It's called E85. But hell, my 3rd and current pump chirps even with E85.

I don't think thats technically a "resolution" then.

Well, no, not really. But it does have a good chance to make the stupid noise go away.

True, but not really worth the expense of converting to an E85 setup *just* to get rid of a noise, at the expense of gas milage (although an appreciable boost in power). Secondly, like E0, E85 is only sold at a few gas stations in the Cleveland area, last I checked.

Did I also mention that the crickets are subdued in the cold?

Hot or cold doesn't seem to make a difference for me. Keep in mind, my temp range is around 40s - 100 F (taking into account the whole year). Maybe it's just not cold enough to matter?

I'm not trying to debate whether E85 is a solution for everyone. I was just making a half-bitter comment because there's really no fix and wasting time at the dealer multiple times over the last 2.5 years has changed nothing. I happen to have an OFT and nearby E85 pumps, but even that sucks because of the cold start issues.

When I read these chirping threads now, I just see this pic in my mind...

The temperature, as I have observed, needs to be in the mid-30s or lower for temperature to have effect. And I didn't notice the sarcasm in your earlier post, my bad.

2015 BRZ. Today I got the crickets @1,350 miles, 5th tank of gas. I finally feel like I am part of the club.
