I had to do a double take to make sure we were comparing the 86 with a solara....

BTW congrats on the car!

Congratulations! Very excited for you!

Unsolicited advice: If you spend some time on this forum you're going to see a ridiculous amount of complaining about the weakness of the engine. Don't let it get to you. Enjoy your wonderful, purposefully engineered, beautifully executed balance of power, fuel economy, and IMHO, just about everything else.

It's a truly special machine. Welcome to the community!

haha yeah I had nothing else to compare it to and wanted to upgrade from my previous car. But thanks for welcoming me and encouraging me. You guys are better than what I had anticipated for asking people online for help haha

oh and adjust your clutch pedal! trust.. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8040

I've driven 10 or so manuals in my life, a lot of people on these forums who have driven a lot more and even those whose first manual was this car agree that this little 10 minute fix changes the manual driving experience for the better. If you allow the clutch pedal to be adjusted as per the instructions on the guy's DIY you'll be fine

That said, it sounds like the FR-S is a bad fit for you. If you just want a roomy, sporty-looking coupe with power, you should go with a new Mustang or Gen Coupe.
Ditto on the GTi (but never had a STi) - the 86 is far more fun than any FWD car has an ability to be.
