I'd like to thank RS-R (http://www.rs-r.com) for bringing me on for the 2015 season. They've provided me with a set of their new Sport-i Club Racer coil overs for my car. I'll be running these in the last 2 local events this year and all of next year. If you're at SEMA this year, stop by their booth and check them out.

Just read through your whole thread and it is fantastic! Great work.

I am looking to get the same wheel/tire/rce spring/camber bolt setup you were running and i have a couple questions.

1 - with the 17x9+35 and 245 tires at stock power, did you find that the setup was too heavy or too much for the car at that time?? I am still contemplating whether or not i should just go with 17x8's.

2 - with rce springs and just camber bolts, did you find that there was any sort of rubbing to the spring perch or the fenders at all?

Thanks and keep up the great work!

Thanks!

1 - I was setting the car up for SCCA Solo2 when I chose that rim tire combo, specifically STX class. I've been told by the track guys that the setup I chose isn't as good for the track. Depends on what you are looking to achieve. I will say that the tire/wheel setup made daily driving a lot more fun in the corners.

2 - no, I was at -2 3/8 in the front and -1.6/-2.0 in the rear and had no rubbing issues with the 245/40 Z2s.

Thanks again.

I see that you are running on Hoosier A7.
It seems to be difficult to find reviews or direct comparisons to its predecessor. Can you share any info how it compares to other R-comp tires you tried or other people you know who tried? What's the word?

Also, in SM you could run on actual race slicks (e.g. from Avon, Goodyear). Have you taken them into consideration at all? And if yes, why have you chosen the A7 instead?

I was on the BFG R1-S tires at the beginning of the year, I went to the Hoosier A7s to be prepared for the SCCA Solo2 Nationals. I had about 110 runs on the BFGs, and they had definitely fallen off. After running on the Hoosier A7s, I'd say the BFGs were probably done at 80 runs. The A7s are very nice. I've got about 38 runs on them now and they are still very grippy.

I went to the Hoosiers as everyone raves about them, and I knew they were legal for the class. I hadn't looked into the Avon or Goodyear offerings.

And another win today in the last local event of the season. The RS-R Sports-i CR coilovers and Cusco 1.5RS LSD with the 4.556 final drive are amazing!

One of my favorite build threads on the forums, hands down. Your build has really gotten me considering seriously getting into autocross, perfect mix of controlled time attack style racing and accessibility without having to drive up to willow and grange to practice and race.

Are you still planning on using the car as your DD after picking up the sponsors and the new wrap/exhaust? How about brakes? Looks like the stock brakes are holding up great even with the boost, curious how often you have swapped brake pads with the amount of AutoX you participate in? The one thing I have yet to do myself in my own garage on any car.

At the end of the day though, fantastic, and definitely an inspiration.
