Yes. I went with an Ecutek custom tune and still had the tuner "dial back" the horsepower gains a bit, just for my own peace of mind. Glad I did. The car has been running like a dream.

Full throttle Electric Supercharger Build Thread

My battery couldn't start the car for the first time. I have the system installed for about 7 months now.

It was 65 degrees two days ago, drove fine to and from work. 35 degrees yesterday, didn't really drive that much - only to pick up take out (down the block) and to the gym (~5 miles each way), cranked fine.

This morning, I couldn't start the car. Around ~27-29 degrees. The battery had enough juice to lock/unlock the car and turn on all the electronics. It would only crank once or twice and then die. After several more attempts, it wouldn't crank at all. I turned off the heater/AC, seat warmer, ESC, and anything else with an off button; still wouldn't crank. Had to ask my buddy come and jump my car - started up fine instantly after attaching the jumper cables.

Mine has been weak at 35-40 degrees F. Thinking of ordering a backup.

Energy transformation is an inherently lossful process. The idea here as I understand it is that your charging batteries during less that 100% utilization cycles to create a reserve, then expending that reserve to add air pressure to the engine under heavy demand.
Is this the idea more or less?

So, when running this kit is there any appreciable fuel consumption variation beyond the considerably increased use under 90%+ throttle? IE when the system is idle and already fully charged.

My cruising gas mileage is better by 2-3 mpg. I've shown 40.3 and 40.4 mpg on two different 15-25 mile trips traveling 55-65 mph. Overall average is down because I stomp on it so much.

I've been thinking that keeping something like this on board might be a good idea.

I have to ask, did you check to see if you had any loose cables or fittings?

Hey guys, I have heard some of the positive posts are working loose. TM this may or may not be the case with you. The last set of kits had these extra washers.... 3/8 flat and a 3/8 lock... torque down till lock is collapsed.
I just checked with Bu-Tang for 'starting' update, all seems well in our balmy -15C

I'll check the connections. Doesn't really make sense to be having issues in the 30s and 40s when the Canada guys don't have them at 0.

I checked around the terminals before I jumped it and there weren't any. I drove to work after I jumped it (~15 miles) and it didn't have a problem starting back up after work. We'll see how it goes -- there'll be plenty of cold days ahead.

Any chance you have something connected to the odb2 port?

I'll be moving to SF in jan/feb. Hooray!!! But I'll be leaving my car here in NY until May. Then I'll be coming back and driving my brz over there.

Nope. I'm pretty sure I don't have anything plugged in or on that could be draining the battery.

I have the cable for the OFT connected to the port but nothing is connected to the cable. Can that create a draw?
