I hope this hasn't been posted before. Thoughts?

I think I know what this is about. One day I was reading something on scions lifestyle website and I came across a section talking about paying you for competing in local events. In order to qualify, they asked you to put a scion decal on the car while competing. But if you came first, the reward was exactly $500 bucks.

When I was test driving the FR-S last week, I asked the dealer about this because one of the available events was for a club called VCMC here in Vancouver. VCMC hosts autocross events on the weekends which I intend to take my new FR-S to in the future.

It's called contigency sponsorship. Some after market comanies do it too. Win while using their products and wearing their stickers and they pay you or give you stuff. Grimmspeed on here is already doing it, too.

VCMC looks pretty good I talked to them at the Autoshow. Nice guys.

Edit: VCMC also hosts 2 trackdays at Mission, too.

the FRS in stock form will have a hard time winning anything in Ontario's series, i can tell you that with much certainty.

at the very least, you'll need an investment of high performance street tires such as the RS3 or Star Specs to even begin thinking of winning a given class.

I've already raised this point on another forum. I would much rather see Scion offer a free or reduced maintenance package (new balljoint/tierod ends, bushing, etc) once a year or once every two years for competiutors rather than some sort of flat fee which is almost unattainable.
