And I didn't have a drill when I put them on, I was at work and I put them on during my lunch break in the parking lot.

The spat does end up between the body and the flap, but if that is the case, you are just adding the flap on top of the spat, so I'm not sure why you need to physically remove the spat at all - all I see you needing to do is remove the top screw that holds the leading edge of the spat, and use the screw that came with the RallyArmor kit instead. Does that make more sense? I'm not sure if what I'm explaining is clear. |

So did you leave out the lower screw that holds the spat on? I haven't actually looked at my vehicle in detail, but it looks like in your pictures the spat is held on by two screws, whereas the RallyArmor kit only has a hole for the topmost screw.

OEM flaps won't fit at all as they wrap around the body where the skirts sit. The more I look at my car the more I think I'm just going to forgo the rallyarmor flaps as they won't sit right over the skirt and will be angled in awkwardly.

I got them for practicality. I have to drive on a lot of gravel and dirt roads going to work, and I don't want rocks destroying the paint.

This car, I can somewhat agree. During winter months with sand, salt, and every other crap on the road, they'll help protect the paint. On other Subarus... one word: RALLY Rally cars have run very large mud flaps for decades, probably so the cars don't injure people with flying gravel. |

Did this ever get resolved? I honestly don't think it's necessary to remove the spats either but would love some confirmation. |

Here are a few additional pictures that aren't in the post that show how the flaps look. ![]()
