Just make sure you figure out what brake fade feels like if you tend to brake hard (I was easier on them because I was all stock) and try and watch out for it before it's an issue.

What kind of times were you running? Braking for turn 3 will overheat the stock pads in a single braking instance if you're threshold braking or using ABS.

I was in blue group so no one was going fast enough to necessitate that. I don't think someone on their first track run is probably apex braking but I'm just a more cautious guy and knew I could boil it. Didn't have timing working as I said before but it was point by only for blue so nothing life changing for sure. I wasn't going to apex when I'm all stock tho.

Club racers work great, but they're a dedicated race pad, so I wouldn't recommend leaving them on for street use until you get faster and can bed them in

Great brake pad! I can't say I can compare them to others as I've only used them but they offer good initial bite, overall braking force and had good durability. The price is very reasonable too. I only just started to out do them and stepped up to the 999s but in my opinion, if you're a beginner/intermediate driver, they will be great for you.

And what he said above. ^

Any race pad, since you're comfortable doing your own work.

Club Racers, XP10, W5, etc.

Kavanagh had a little 'user access' issue. I'm just resubbing to this thread.

Had a great outing last Saturday with the Arizona Ferrari, Porsche, BMW and Audi owners clubs. Our local 86 group was invited to join them for a private track day. 6 sessions on Wild Horse Pass West track. I'll post video and ask for opinions as soon as I get a chance to. It was pretty fun being out there with all the Ferraris and Porsches. It was even more fun getting waved past by most of them. To be fair, they were mostly non-track folken...

@CSG Mike those Winmax W3 pads were pretty good, but I may need to upgrade to a more track specific pad and just swap pads for events/street. I smoked the bejeezus out of them and glazed both rotors. Probably my fault for not warming them enough or something. I had already bedded them in before the track. Any ideas what I would have done to cause this?

Thanks!

You're faster than you think

I'd say step up to a W5/Club Racer/XP10 next.
