You mean don't add 2 defs for the same CAL ID.

So let me get started.
after a long talk with shiv from oft and steve99 I was sure I bricked my ecu. the night I brought my car in to the dealers I used a scan tool to try and connect to my ecu and it wouldn't esb a connection. *that gave me some hope* cause since I couldn't esb a connection with my scan tool there was no way they could. After 4 days of waiting they finally pin pointed the problem to be the ecu and they also told me after they order the ecu from toyota Japan *this took a week to arrive ;( * they would have to do some test and see if it was my intake or exhaust that caused the problem. *which I knew, no way in hell those 2 items would cause the ecu to fail*
After all the "tests" we're done I was called to called to pick up the car
The ecu was filed under warranty and my car is back to normal

Thanks for all the support 86 owners!

QUICK TIP FOR EVERYONE THAT MODS THE BIN FILES ON ROMRAIDER...DONT EVER ADD/LEAVE TWO DEFINITIONS WITH THE SAME CAL ID IN THE ECU DEFINITIONS TAB
... AND ALWAYS MAKE SURE IT IS THE RIGHT XML FILE (EX. B01C, A01C) , JUST TO BE SAFE! CAUSE NOT BEING ABLE TO DRIVE YOUR CAR FOR A WEEK AND A HALF ISNT FUN!

TLDR: I lied about how the ECU was bricked, got free ECU, you can too!

ETA for OP: Because liars and thieves suck.

Thanks for quoting OP so I can see that he indeed broke the law by defrauding a dealership with a false warranty claim before editing his post to hide the truth.

If we're lucky enough, that ECU will get sent to a Subaru engineer who can promptly do a JTAG read, see the mixed up cal ID and trickle the news back to the dealership. Then the cops will arrest him one random morning on his way to work.

False warranty claims hurt EVERYONE with an 86, and especially those who have REAL warranty claims. Best go pay up before you're locked up.
