You know, I never thought I'd say this, but I'm thinking about switching back to Red Hand IX hand cannon. I don't know if the auto rifle NERF is what changed things, but since I picked up my Doctor Nope I'm just not having good luck with it. Sure, I love the Third Eye upgrade and who can argue with a 71 round magazine but between the recoil and having to literally put 5-15 rounds into a bad guy is getting frsutrating. It actually takes longer to take down each bad guy than it does with the hand cannon. I was consistently putting down bad guys with one shot, sometimes 2 or 3 if I didn't hit them correctly but with Doctor Nope I have to keep resetting and firing another burst. I did the daily story yesterday set on level 28 and ended up dying about 3 times because I kept getting overwhelmed with the Thralls and most of that was due to the inordinate amount of time it was taking to kill each one.

Fresh run, so smooth. Wiped maybe 5 times total and 2 were during the Gorgon maze when we were fucking around. Funny because I tried to get into TCurry's game but it filled up before I could. They didn't even finish it, similar to problems I had running it with them last week. At least I know I'm not the problem now. It was great feeling running it start to finish even if we did cheese the templar.

I feel like my hand cannon ruined every other gun in this game. It's just so badass and dominates everything. Guy last night was bragging about how his Vision of Confluence is getting 1200dmg shots, meanwhile I'm watching my TDYK cranking out 1500-1600 damage crits.

I got so used to 1 shot kills that going back to an AR takes some serious adjustment, especially the low impact/high ROF ones like Doctor Nope and my new Atheon's Epilogue. You might have better luck with one of the slower but more powerful ARs like Shadow Price or Suros Regime.

Scout rifles might also be a good compromise for you.

The higher the stat, the less cooldown time and the faster the recharge time. That's why people have different armor set builds for different sub classes.

For example, I have the Acrylophage Symbiote helmet for my gunslinger hunter which grants 4 shots in my golden gun and boosts super charge meter every time I deal grenade damage. I have no need for my melee so I don't care about strength. I have my stats maxed towards discipline and intellect to further maximize these abilities and charge my super. Because of this I can spam my grenade at a much faster rate. I get 4-5 super charges minimum even in a bad game. That's 16-20 shots that will kill an opponent in one hit which makes me a PvP monster. This is my PvP setup where in PvE I use a different armor set since I have different needs. Hope this helps!

Thanks, that makes perfect sense now. I was trying to decipher it based off what the game was saying but you made it much clearer and simpler. Now I'm kicking myself for dismantling my Armada type chest piece, especially since it was fully upgraded. I only dismantled one of the 2 Raku Crucible type chest pieces, so no loss there. I also wish I hadn't dismantled my other legendary helmet now. I'm an idiot I guess. Oh well, I'll have to look more closely at that stuff now and start swapping pieces around based off what I'm doing. Swapping between PvE and PvP makes perfect sense, wish I had thought/realized that earlier.

Yeah, I might give the scout rifles a try again. I'm also working on my Bad JuJu bounty so maybe that'll help change my mind. I got Doctor Nope mostly because I wanted the Third Eye upgrade and I wanted to take a break from the hand cannon. With that being said, the hand cannon is just more of a monster based off my own perceptions. I spent so much time dancing around the Thralls, Knights and Wizards last night because everytime I was about to kill a bad guy, I'd be taking so many hits my health would drop dramatically and I'd have to displace and not be able to finish the one I was shooting off.

That's really awesome about the Raid. It's surprising in a way but then again you're the second person that says they've run the Raid with a group of randoms in the last week and were not only successful but were able to do it rather fast. The first time I did it was TCurry and we finished it from start to finish in a little over 2 hours (did spend about 45 minutes getting 6 people rounded up). The last few times we've tried it we can't seem to get passed the Gatekeeper stage for some reason. Not sure why. Man I really want to get through it and get some raid gear. My big fear is I am going to get stuck at level 28/29 and not be able to play the expansion/DLC when it comes out.

Don't feel too bad about dismantling stuff. Maybe it's because I don't PVP but until I got my raid gear last night I chose my gear based on looks. There's essentially 2 sets of hunter armor and one with the baggy pants looks terrible, sadly the raid gear is the baggy pants model

I can't imagine they're expecting everyone to be level 30 to do the new raid, that's just not possible for so many people because of RNG and real life commitments. I'd wager the normal mode will be level 30 like hard mode VoG and you'll be able to do it as a 29 and have a chance at level 31 gear. Hard mode will be level 32 and give you a chance at level 32 gear. They may even do a level 32 VoG, there's a second set of armor in the loot table that no one has gotten yet.

I've read there's also going to be a mechanism (probably a raid drop) which will allow us to upgrade our level 30 exotic gear to level 31 and 32.

Also keep in mind you have to adjust your skills tree in your character subclass to cater to your stat needs. IMO recovery would be most important as it determines how fast your shields regenerate.

I did the raid on hard with some friends the other day and got to the vex gatekeeper but then I had to leave..

After beating the Templar I got two fatebringers... both dropped at the exact same time.. what a waste of a good drop..

Damn took us 3 hours to get through the raid last night, for zero loot since I already did it this week.

Oh well was still fun and did it with a bunch of guys who've never completed it.

I need to level an alt.

Got my warlock to 30, finally. My titan alt got 30 before my main.

Hopefully my hunter will get the boots from the raid and I'll be able to get it up to 30 also.

And since I don't play my hunter much, the thorn bounty is taking forever :P

Add into that the fact that melee and nades from Hunter don't have a void option, and it takes even longer.
