True and I'm looking forward to starting the Halo series this year. Alien Isolation seems pretty cool so far but it's the opposite of a FPS game. You can't even kill the Alien.

So just to correct some misinformation I posted a while back, since I just read this recently.

You DO NOT get extra shards for dismantling armor that you leveled up. You DO get extra energy from weapons, however.

That's lame, it's easy to walk around for a day as a level 27 to max out armor, but fuck if i'm going to use a terrible gun for 2 days that i'm planning on dismantling anyway.

I have guns I plan on keeping that I can't even be bothered to level...cough suros...cough cough pocket infinity

You're doing yourself a disservice not using Suros. There's a reason it's going to be nerfed in pvp. It's definitely a bit OP.

Also, you don't have to use them. Just equip them when you turn in your bounties.

This should be the headline for Crucible.


The SUROS Regime is an auto rifle that does scout rifle damage, but has little to no recoil like a pulse rifle (with the slowed rate of fire ability when ADS). Unless you prefer the Icebreaker in a loadout, I see no reason why you would be using any other auto rifle.

I recently purchased the Suros. It is a wicked, wicked machine. I love the Ice Breaker as well, but its sadly collecting dust because of the stupid one-exotic rule.
I wish for PvE we could equip one exotic weapon in each slot. Mmm that would be fun. One exotic for PvP sure- the rules are different, gameplay is different...

I haven't tried my suros in crucible, will do. I'm more of a hand cannon guy.

Give it a shot. Level it up some. I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed.

For sure, I loved my Shadow Price before discovering hand cannons. Suros seems at least as good. Struggle giving up that Exotic slot though, Icebreaker is just so clutch.

Plot twist, I ran the raid last night and picked up Atheon's Epilogue. Definitely want to level this first since it'll help immensely with my Thorn bounty and future VoG runs. I was wondering how the hell I was going to complete that Thorn bounty with only a fusion rifle and rocket launcher.

Also got a raid chest piece, 29 here I come!!!

Sweet, I saw your post on the Destiny APP. Seems like you all did a really good run, especially since you were able to complete it in a little over an hour with randoms! Did you all run it from start to finish or did someone have a checkpoint saved?

You know, I never thought I'd say this, but I'm thinking about switching back to Red Hand IX hand cannon. I don't know if the auto rifle NERF is what changed things, but since I picked up my Doctor Nope I'm just not having good luck with it. Sure, I love the Third Eye upgrade and who can argue with a 71 round magazine but between the recoil and having to literally put 5-15 rounds into a bad guy is getting frsutrating. It actually takes longer to take down each bad guy than it does with the hand cannon. I was consistently putting down bad guys with one shot, sometimes 2 or 3 if I didn't hit them correctly but with Doctor Nope I have to keep resetting and firing another burst. I did the daily story yesterday set on level 28 and ended up dying about 3 times because I kept getting overwhelmed with the Thralls and most of that was due to the inordinate amount of time it was taking to kill each one.

Also, can someone explaing to me the armor modifiers : strength, discipline and intellect? I got 2 legendary chest piece drops for my Titan yesterday (ironically both Raku crucible types). Since I already had an Armada chest piece that was almost completely upgraded and I am currently rocking an exotic chest piece I decided to dismantle 2 of the chest pieces for shards. Hopefully I didn't mess up by doing that. I noticed that upfitting the different pieces affected my "strength, discipline,intellect" values but I couldn't get all of them maxed out, closest one I got was 97% on discipline I believe. Does suiting up your character in a complete matching suit make a difference, say all Raku crucible type or all Armada etc? Just curious as I don't know. I did change out my helmet this weekend, it dropped me back to level 27 but now I'm back to 28. Wondering if my last chest and helmet upgrade will bump me to 29.

Strength (Melee)

The higher the stat, the less cooldown time and the faster the recharge time. That's why people have different armor set builds for different sub classes.

For example, I have the Acrylophage Symbiote helmet for my gunslinger hunter which grants 4 shots in my golden gun and boosts super charge meter every time I deal grenade damage. I have no need for my melee so I don't care about strength. I have my stats maxed towards discipline and intellect to further maximize these abilities and charge my super. Because of this I can spam my grenade at a much faster rate. I get 4-5 super charges minimum even in a bad game. That's 16-20 shots that will kill an opponent in one hit which makes me a PvP monster. This is my PvP setup where in PvE I use a different armor set since I have different needs. Hope this helps!
