from 6 deposits to no car AT ALL. (well except for my current car).

I told her that we might have a test drive to do tomorrow when she comes back from her trip. She said that she doesn't want to go because she doesn't care for the car. She wants no part in the car. I was like WTF?! Seriously... this is BS.

Dude..that sucks...didn't she know you were doing this all along?..if she did what did she think the end result was going to be?..or was she hoping you'd back out yourself so she didn't have to say anything?

Don't you still have to sort out your job first anyways?

No big deal, it'll be around for a few years at least.

I told her that I was buying this car months ago as I put down my deposits. She doesn't value cars as much as I do. My love for cars and driving in a very low driving position is so strongly rooted in me that it dates back to when I bought my family's 1992 corolla with my dad when I was 5 years old. From there, we owned a 2002 and 2003 corolla before I bought my 2012 Elantra.

The 2002 Corolla was my car (until i totaled it). I really liked that corolla because though it was a family sedan, it was low to the ground and torque-y when i needed it to be. (the 2003 was sh** LOL)

When I was 14, I would secretly take the car out without my license and drive it around my neighborhood... I kept doing it more when I was 15-16. When I was 16 and got my Learners permit, I didn't require any driving lessons as I was already making my own driving lesson plans. When I hit the new drivers permit, I drove night and day and played! And you know what? I love driving so much that sometimes when I have nothing better to do, I take the car out and drive around my neighborhood pretty hard.

I don't know.... this is not good. Something has to go if you know what I mean... HAHAHAHA Jk.

To be honest, I don't care about the job situation. I work 5 different casual jobs right now... The full time just gives me the mental security that I want.

Dude..MOST people don't value cars as much as we do. To 95% of people out there a car is just a transportation appliance..an expense.

This forum, This car, is for the other 5% of people that connect to cars with more than just their pocketbook, but their heart & soul. A Car this special can't be quantified.

It's OBVIOUS how special this car is to you, you need to find a way to make this work. You will kill yourself and end up hating your girlfriend over this for a very long time. Plus if you back out..20% of our club is GONE...that Means after your gone, 25% of our FRS club could be Impreza WRX's..lol

Plus i need to make money off you! Blacking out your headlights, Changing your stereo...Welding extra wheels on the back so you can have Dualies!

It's pretty funny. Every time I see a sports car, I am always reminded of my dad who bought a 5th Generation Toyota Corona - FR Layout. He used it when he was dating my mom at that time. In the philippines, it was called the "macho machine". LOL. Sadly the car had to go when they started having kids and he will always remember those days.

Working at the hospital, taking care of people really has shown me to enjoy my life to as much as I can. I've witnessed people as young as 2 have cancer. I've taken care of people in their 40s that have terminal cancer and that are palliative. I've seen people in their 80s that are just about to go. I am not going to get any younger. As long as I have the necessities to live such as food and shelter, I am going to spend some of my money on my interests. My previous interests were my photography but now that people just want me to take pictures of their weddings and events and I don't want to do that anymore, I am more than willing to let that go for this car. (the resale value of photography gear is actually MUCH MUCH MUCH BETTER compared to cars). LOL.

It's insane, some SLR lenses appreciate, i swear. It's also because lenses don't evolve at the speed a car does, not to mention some of the best lenses made aren't the newest ones, but the ones made 5,10,15 years ago . The bodies seem to depreciate a bit, but not like a car that's for sure.

You need to talk to the lady methinks.

I agree. and I believe that my dad and I really fall in that 5% (even though we don't really work on our cars). So my dad had made a ton of sacrifices for our family. To this date, he has bought us new cars and he's still driving the 1992 Corolla and has recently bought a used 2003 Revo to replace our old 1990 Kia pride (also known as the ford festiva) back home.

Anyways, I asked him if it was okay for me to finance two cars while he still drove old cars back home. To my surprise, he said that it was okay because I believe that he understood how I feel about driving. I got the OK from my parents - I definitely don't want to piss off anybody with my car that's for sure. I know its my money, i just want to make sure everyone is comfortable with the change thats going to happen.

I am actually quite angry. She's been gone for about 3 weeks and I was excited to see her tomorrow. I don't know how to feel right now.

My SLR lenses have all appreciated in value.

I own a 24mm f1.4L, 35mm f1.4L, 50mm f1.2L, 85mm f1.2L, and a 135mm f2.0L. All of these lenses have appreciated by 200-300. I've bought all of my previous lenses (to name some, 24-70L, 70-200L) and have sold them under their appreciated price already. LOL
