[Vancouver, BC] Out the door pricing

Hello Everyone,

As most of you know, I was at JP Scion yesterday putting down another deposit for the Fr-S as they had two open spots. I am looking at a end of may delivery date.

I was also pre-approved for my car loan and here is what it all came down to:

Notes:
- Applied for the Scion Grad program (-$1000 and -0.2% on financing rates)
- Applied for 36 months at 2.9% financing
- Car ordered: 2013 Scion FR-S whiteout.

Car Worth:

MSRP: $25 990
+ Freight and PDI: $1 495
+ A/C Levy: $100
+ Tire Levy: $25
+ Documentation/Administration service: $295.00
Sub total: 27610.00

+ HST (12%): 3313.20

Total: 30923.20

+ Downpayment (result of grad program): -$1000
+ Finance contract registration fee (PPSA): $30.50

Amount financed: 29953.70

Total finance charge (interest and fees): $1262.98

Total Deferred Balance: 31216.68

To be paid in 35 equal monthly installments of 867.13 each, commencing 2nd day of June, 2012 with a final installment of $867.13 to be paid on the 2nd day of May, 2015.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Note: I will be doing a $7000 deposit which should bring me down to the 600/mo which would be great!
------------------
Update - pricing
------------------

Financing rates (based off $30,0000 with $0 down and grad rebate applied - (-1000 & -0.2%)):
36 mo for 2.7% - 868.40/mo (interest accrued: $1,265.12)
48 mo for 3.7% - 673.35/mo (interest accrued: $2,320.88)
60 mo for 4.7% - 562.02/mo (interest accrued: $3,721.38)
72 mo for 5.7% - 492.95/mo (interest accrued: $5,492.35)

Now in terms of insurance rates:
- Based on a Genesis Coupe 2.0T at 15% off: 2881.02/yr with 2 Million third party liability, $1000 comprehensive, $1000 collision.

Options as a safety net:
- accelerating payments: I could deal with 60 months for 4.7% and then accelerate it to 36 months as I am paying off the car. so just in case I have a hard time to meet 868.40, I can go for that lowered monthly instead as a back up plan.

That's really good. Less than $1300 over 3 years to finance.

Time to go around and collect all your deposits from the various dealerships or are you going to leave some in place just in case?

How many total deposits did you leave btw between Scion and Subaru dealerships?

Yeah, I only have 1 deposit down so I would hate to lose a car over a few hundred bucks. No harm in asking though.

If they say the admin fee is the same for everybody and can't be waived you can always say the MSRP isn't. They could always drop the MSRP by $300 to make up for it.

I'm I'm not the first person in Canada to get my car. I want to see what other people's experiences are so I can go off of that and see what I can do with negotiating. I'm really not impressed by the admin fee I was quoted at all.

The $395 admin fee subaru charges is standard across All subaru Dealers.
I doubt you can complain about it with any results.

Paid it for the STI, paid it for the WRX.

Regency infiniti was the best for admin fees...$40

Unless you know someone at the dealer, you'd be hard pressed to get any kind of deal on a car this rare.

All of those 6 dealers are pushing you for a documentation/admin fee?! My dealer refuses to charge any markups or bs fees.

Admin fees are BS. It's just extra margin for them. They are already making money on the MSRP price. I didn't pay any admin fees on my last car.

This does not bode well for future BRZ purchase...

I will not pay a DIME for admin fees. That is their job.

I will tell them that when I get my car. That is your job, not mine.

My Admin Fee at Tony Graham in Ottawa is $349.00

It is additional profit for them and I had no interest in fighting with them as I have a 20+ year relationship with them.

The service department has many times done things for me that saved a lot more than that.
