Mine is a 2013.. I could be wrong, but I think it depends somewhat on Gas? I've never thought enough to notice differences between gas stations.. but sometimes it isn't there at all.. so maybe?

I bought a used 2013 Limited BRZ. I can only hear chirping at idle after the car's RPMs have gone down to ~700rpm, and even then it's very hard to hear.

I have crickets at idle, but they go away as soon as I give it more gas. I have almost since the car was new (7600 miles now).

Mine started making the noise around 1k miles. Audible under 1200rpms or so, idle almost all the time except for when the car is cold. Goes away as soon as I touch the gas.

You would hope that if someone comes up with something Subaru would volunteer to do it under warranty lol. Thinking about calling the dealer and see what they say here as well

6,600 miles on the clock. Started around 500 miles. Took it to the dealer, they said "it was normal". WTF.

My car started now after 17000 km. Is there a fix for it yet. Bit hard to scan through 2 years of posts.

I am on my third fuel pump from Subaru. My car has 14k on it. You would think the new 15's wouldnt have this issue, but they have yet to permanently fix it.

No. To sum up:

Ethanol doesn't consistently make a difference. Some non-ethanol gas gets rid of the crickets. Some doesn't. Most 10% fuels result in crickets. Some (usually off-brands) don't. Some E85 gets rid of the crickets, but people have reported crickets on E85. Even if you find a gas station that sells gas that doesn't give you crickets, that may change when the weather changes and the station switches blends.

Some people have had good luck with putting Lucas upper cylinder lubricant in their gas. Some have not.

Some have had good luck with putting ashless TC-W3 oil in their gas. Some have not.

Most who have had their fuel pumps replaced under warranty have had the crickets come back. Those who haven't probably will.

Toyota tried insulating the pump with sound deadening material. Apparently that caused heat issues that made the crickets worse.

You can chase cricket-free gas all over the place. You can try additives. You can replace the pump. In the end, though, it's most likely going to be just a lot of wasted time and energy attempting to change a sound that is normal for a high pressure fuel pump.

@extrashaky

Forgot that some people have their crickets go away as the the car gets run in, haven't heard mine in over a year and 20k miles.

I'm in the group that thinks it depends on what gas you use. I have a series.blue and for the first 6500-7000 miles I used mostly Shell and Chevron gas, and had the crickets. For the last couple of months used Shell only and the crickets where gone. This past weekend I filled up with Chevron and the crickets are back. I'm going to go back to shell gas for the next couple month and see if the crickets leave, again.

I'm at 4800 miles on my 2014 Limited and never heard the crickets yet. But I guess they can always show up down the road.
