Next I went into the EQ settings and turned the EQ off and it was still working as normal. Then I turned the EQ back on and it worked as normal for a couple songs and then back to the original problem. I just turned the EQ off and it seems to be holding working correctly.

So, that's it, turning off the Spotify built-in EQ seems to resolve the issue...

I'll report back to edit this post if the problem comes back.

That's weird I have spotify premium also but I don't have a built in equalizer in the app like you mentioned. Maybe its different cause your Samsung and I'm HTC?

It's in the app settings. I'd be surprised if you didn't have it.

I guess it's a known issue for some folks that the EQ doesn't exist. In my case, it probably would have been better if I didn't have it anyway as it was the source of the problem...
