My car has been with Shiv for tuning and testing for the last month, but he has not reported any issues to me yet with the clutch. It is still early though.

However, we recently purchased SBD's old shop BRZ with the same clutch and it has the issues. I've played with the adjustment quite a bit with only little change obviously. Definitely not an issue we would expect from a company like Exedy.

Bump. The clutch has been delivered back to Exedy. Eagerly awaiting Evan's feedback.

I've got an Exeddy Stage 1 clutch, I've only been locked out of reverse once in the month I've had it in the car. After being locked out, I let it roll back and re-attempted to put it in reverse. Was sucessfully. Haven't had any issue since other then a bit of chatter on cold starts. Shifting into first has grinded a few times since I've gotten it though.

Do that absolutely. They have a warranty and should know when their parts are failing.

The springs are not worn out. The OEM clutch has a long travel damper multi rate spring. These are supposed to be loose. The dampening springs of a clutch disc aren't supposed to be preloaded. These springs will constantly move back and forth while the vehicle is in operation. This is how a clutch disc absorbs driveline/engine harmonics.

Chatter is normal for a stage 2 racing clutch. Racing clutches need to be driven differently from an OEM clutch.

Same thing with most performance products. Just like adding an exhaust may make your car louder. Adding performance often affects drivability.

The disc fits the spline guage perfect. I will be doing more testing today on the load cell. I will post my findings.

This is great... Specially when SBD pushed so hard for everyone to get this clutch, and when they created the "clutch is out of stock for MONTHS" trend. (it was back in stock in a few days).

I will cave and install an ACT 6 puck in a few weeks, when I get the heavier FW here. I''m getting locked out of first and/or reverse at least twice per drive session now.

Thats incredibly annoying. So no one has had issues with ACT's?

I was really sad to find out that the exedy clutch requires use of their own flywheel, as I really didn't want the lighter one.
