If your pedal is at a good height you can just adjust the sensor up or down..

I adjusted the pedal so many times yesterday that its actually much higher than the brake pedal, most likely back to stock height. Once I readjust it later today ill check back in here to update on my progress

This may be too far OT, but does anyone know if we can adjust the gas pedal so all 3 pedals are equal height? I know when flashing a new tune, the car needs to relearn the range of gas pedal motion, so I'm thinking this may be as simple as the clutch is to adjust. Anyone tried this?

So I'm having an issue recently developed where the car thinks I have the clutch fully engaged any time my key fob comes near the car and allows me to turn the engine on without pressing the clutch. I cant get into accessory or ON position without starting the car any more. The key fob light is lit solid green on the dash when I'm in it and the push to start is always red. I have done the clutch spring removal as well as the clutch adjustment to level the clutch pedal with the brake maybe slightly higher and made sure to adjust the sensor in the correct manner
Just my thoughts on the issue; I don't think the spring is at fault cause it puts force on the pedal at full engage or full disengage regions only. I pushed the pedal back with my hands as far as possible and it still senses the clutch is engaged so I don't think its related. This also started happening yesterday and I had the spring removed a few days earlier without issue. I've done clutch adjustments nearly daily but made sure to have the sensor positioned perfectly so I also do not see it as being the issue Any help would be greatly appreciated ![]() Edit: found the solution to this if anyone else is experiencing the same problem; There's a black sensor which gets pushed in when clutch is fully depressed and for me it started to jam and hold on giving the signal the clutch was depressed. The sensor jams when pressed in too far so adjusting it further back with a 14 mm wrench will fix the problem! Last edited by 504; 09-17-2014 at 11:07 AM. |

Love the thread and discussion on adjusting the clutch. So far running Exedy's Hyper Single (secretly upgraded) it definitely has a heavier pedal than the Clutch Masters FX350. So far I have left everything stock and think it's a pretty good feel.
But I am still debating on what the feel will be like with removing the "helper spring." Anyone have an opinion that are running a heavier pressure plate (aka FX400 & up, Hyper Multi, Hyper Single, or a pressure plate with 2600lbs and up)? Thanks guys. *Tags added to thread |

After driving my '14 BRZ for 3 months, I still felt I hadn't mastered shifting. Occasionally killing the engine at launch, over-revving and just having to think about shifting too much surprised me after having shifted Porsche's, Vettes and Jaguars going back to the late sixties. After finding and reading all of this thread, I decided to adjust the clutch pedal height.
My pedal came from the factory a full 3/4" higher than the brake pedal. I used the method some suggested of backing off the nut, popping the pin and spinning the bracket down 1-1/2 turns, reinstalling the pin and clevis, re-tightening the nut and then taking it for a test spin. This ten minute fix sure seems to have made a big difference. Now the clutch pedal is still a good 1/8" higher than the brake. I'm erring on this relative height, being on the safe side from what I've read here but, so far, seems to be all that's needed. The only thing I didn't figure out was how to get the white nylon part back on the end of the pin. What's it's purpose, anyhow? Thanks to those that did all the groundwork for this mod. It's much appreciated. |

Just wanted to report back after 8 months of having the clutch a mm above the brake pedal and the helper spring removed. Forget turbos and coilovers, this and the spring removal is the absolute best thing you can do to your car.
