Obviously the number of seats is only one factor. But remember, this car is not just for sale in the United States. Our insurance market is unique to us, other countries have different premium calculating models.

Thanks to the OP for an honest no BS review. I like hearing what you don't like about the car and why, and written out in detail. Way to post up. I have a different take on some of your issues, here are my thoughts:

Small back seat: IMO sports cars should ideally have only 2 seats. But because a back seat sometimes comes in handy, it's acceptable to have a "barely usable" back seat just in case. I had to ride in the trunk of my buddy's S2000 one time in an emergency. As long as the back seat is more comfortable than that, I'm not complaining, haha.

Cheap interior: This is subjective, but largely irrelevant to me. When I spend money on a sports car, I prefer those $$$ to go into chassis suspension and mechanicals, with interior taking a distant last place. I love the fact that the interior has been kept simple and the opposite of "bling" with the focus on balanced vehicle dynamics instead.

Basically, these "negatives" are arguments that steer me toward this car. If it had a roomy back seat and an upscale interior I'd be shopping for something different.

I won't get into the handling differences between the FR-S and TC2 as I haven't actually driven either, but I suspect there's a very big difference in handling dynamics as you approach the limits of adhesion.

Thanks for all the post. I will tell you that i have a dobie and he will be tight to fit, but dogs will fit where you tell them to fit,,,mine would fit but he would lie flat, so would a person in the back. But really, it is an awesome car as well as hadling, just dont buy it and think your gonna haul the kids to school, thats not gonna happen!!!! One poster mentioned what does that even mean, Im assuming about the dash??? Well simple, for me at least, if you followed my post, Im a retired police officer, Ive chased everything in everything, if your drib=ving balls to the wall, the dash is the least of your concern, you know your engine, your tires, the sound both make and what your car can handle,,,so that being said,,at high speeds you are looking at the roads ahead, predicting turns and pushing to the max whatever ur driving,,,again,,,let me say,,this car does what u tell it to do,,the handling compares to no other. That being said I will tell you sagain,,it needs an open road test,,,dont let your dealer,,,sales rep tell u that u cant put it to the test,,ur not driving a camry,,,and if you test a 911 and they tell u to take a slow ride,,u remind them what ur buying,,,same diff. U want a sport car/ ur driving a sport car? drive it like its stolen or get another sales rep!!!! I will tell you,,this car will do anything you want it to do as long as you know what u want to tell it to do. Its no joke that hte FRS does 61 in the slolom and the genesis does 67 with double the hp,,,,,, np milliseconds,,,,multiple seconds,,,not on hp....just pure handling,,,but it does come with restrictions!!!!
