Hoping when I test drive this thing I won't notice the lack of torque as much as I think I will. The reviews haven't been too harsh on it which I take as a really good sign.
Definitely agree! Are you still buying it? Will you wait it out for a few years until they increase the powertrain?

I need to feel it to decide for sure. I'm 99% sure I'll buy it. I'd definitely like to try it in traffic some, go up a few hills just so I can feel the power. From everything I've read there seems to be no real issues but I live in a pretty hilly area. Not San Francisco by any means but enough that buying a car without a good amount would be annoying.

A lot of us are going to be at the dealership today to check out the car. If they let me actually drive the car, I'll post my thoughts on how the engine performs.

I have a 2.8L A4 Audi right now with about 200HP and 210lbs of torque. I should be able to notice the increase in torque between the 2 cars so I'll post my thoughts if they let me drive it.

Not sure if they will though.

It's gonna be an awesome day today. We all finally meet AND I get to talk to people who actually know the car. When i went to check it out, people were confused if it was rear, front, or all wheel drive. They also wondered if it had a LSD stock. One of the salesmen said that he would rather have the STI as it had a turbo on it + AWD.

MANNNNN!!! I LOL'ed but i had to correct him right away.

Just in case he's busy at work I'll answer for him. I'm pretty sure he said he lives close to the automall and is getting off work at 4 today so should be there around 4:05.

Sending the girl since I'm out of town.

Not impressed with Angelo, if it weren't for this board I would have no idea there was a showing.

I'm out in chilliwack, would be nice to come and view the car but I work 10-5 damn! I agree If this car had like 230hp and 180ftlb's it would be perfect. My current car has 200hp and 195ftlb's so I already know I'm not going to be too impressed with the acceleration. But if I like the car enough it's not too big of a deal I'll just strap a supercharger/turbo on it in a couple of years hahah. I'm thinking of going for the Subie as well though. It's more exclusive and I don't think it will be riced out as much as the frs, because lets face it it's going to happen *sigh*. And plus I'm not a fan of scion anyways.

Lol, they had the car for test drives at Scion downtown earlier today, few people knew about it though. So awesome.

Forgot to add photos the first time. The lighting was awkward, so please excuse the blur:

Do you mean Jimmy Pattison's Scion dealership downtown?
Subaru doesn't have one IIRC and a Scion at a Subaru :-s

Edit: Oops answered my own question by looking closer at the one pic. It is his Scion dealership across from Marriott on Hornby.
