I wonder if this trim piece is thick enough to cover the dash bulge.

It might be able to take the damage out of view temporarily, but it wont keep the dash piece from getting worse.

No, it looks like it covers the same area as the stock piece.

It's not that the repair is difficult. It's the fact that the service techs don't give a shit about your car and will do a half assed job. That's what we are all concerned about.

The best way to prevent this is to get your front windshield tinted. If you're going to tell me that it's illegal in your state, stop. I already know it's illegal in most states. I'm from California and it's illegal. But I did it anyway with the lightest possible tint to prevent this. I also use a sunshade. No issues at all. My dash looks mint.

My dealer supposedly just ordered the part and its coming from California and they should have me in the shop and good to go by next weekend. They expect to get it early next week. Fingers crossed. I haven't had a normal looking dash since I got it new and now its got over 15k miles.

I'm thinking about getting a sunshade thing.

This is also exactly what mine looks like, if im honest I thought it seemed odd well before i even saw this thread.. however I'm not going to let the dealership touch it unless it gets worse.. Taking the entire dash out? Sounds like a great place for the dealership to fuck something up, not worth the headaches.

I just notice this on my 2015 BRZ that is 3 weeks old. THe lift is only about 2-3 mm but if you are looking for it it is noticable. Will have to take it in to the dealer and see what they say.

Same happened to me, i thought it was "normal" until I saw this thread.
The dash still looks like that and after thinking i will probably won't let the dealership touch it since I have some gauges installed and I know they will do a mess.

My dash looks like the above. If it gets worse I'll take it to the dealer, but I'd really rather them not tear that much of my car apart. It's been like that since I bought it, and it only ever sat in the showroom and had about 4 miles on it when I picked it up. I've had a sunshade for most of the summer, it's cooler in the car and hopefully it stalls the dash issue for a little while.
