I ran service departments in new car dealers for 25 years. My personal take is, that it wouldn't make a difference if you put it on....BUT!!!! The same dealer will be making warranty decisions on you car, so I'd work within their guidelines.

That, and @LALFAN mentioned the following in the quote below of the TRD wheels. I'd prefer to stay with the standard 17's in this case, although I agree that perhaps Scion should have done something to keep up appearance wise with the rest of the RS as standard.

Picked it up a few days ago and got the wheels, tires and TRD CAI installed today. I went with the TRD recommended staggered setup with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires (215/40R18 front and 225/40R18 rear).

Definitely much quieter with the CAI installed as it removed the resonator tube. Highly recommend plugging or removing the tube. This was giving me a headache, literally, just driving for 30 minutes.

The TRD wheels and MPSS tires definitely give the steering a heavier/sticker feel and the car does feel a bit slower. Not breaking news, but it was highly noticeable after driving on the stock setup for a few days. Worth it for the looks and grip, IMHO. The quality/comfort of the ride with the new wheels/tires negligible. Maybe a tad more road noise as you approach 70MPH.

BTW, every review you've read it true. This car is a blast to drive. It may not be the fastest on the block, but that doesn't matter, it's the most fun and this one certainly gets the most looks.

Why do you need to get out of your lease? Seems a bit premature to end a lease and you haven't even received the car yet. Why would you sign off on a lease only to get out of it?

I put a down payment on the 1.0

But I have to get out of my 2013 lease. 5 months left. I didn't think Carmax would low ball me so much. I need 19500 to get out.

Your dealership should be able to get you out since the car you're buying is at the standard price, therefore they should be able to work with you most effectively on the trade / early lease return.

Be cautious that they don't take advantage of you since you're already committed because of placing your deposit on the RS.

They are not really lowballing as much as trying to keep enough room to make a profit. Not their fault you want out early.
I would see if your dealer can do anything to help. I still owed way more then I should have for my 12 Lancer but the dealer was able to work some magic for me.

Anyone know why cars are being held up in port? I'm in Hawaii and they say they are still waiting on a part and they won't tell me what part....my loan expires soon I know it....I'm getting mad.

It takes 2-3 weeks after the car is at the port to get on the truck to arrive at the dealer..The time frame killed me too thats why when i saw another dealer had theirs in the lot, I scooped it up immediately.
