#213 checking in...

Picked it up a few days ago and got the wheels, tires and TRD CAI installed today. I went with the TRD recommended staggered setup with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires (215/40R18 front and 225/40R18 rear).

Definitely much quieter with the CAI installed as it removed the resonator tube. Highly recommend plugging or removing the tube. This was giving me a headache, literally, just driving for 30 minutes.

The TRD wheels and MPSS tires definitely give the steering a heavier/sticker feel and the car does feel a bit slower. Not breaking news, but it was highly noticeable after driving on the stock setup for a few days. Worth it for the looks and grip, IMHO. The quality/comfort of the ride with the new wheels/tires negligible. Maybe a tad more road noise as you approach 70MPH.

BTW, every review you've read it true. This car is a blast to drive. It may not be the fastest on the block, but that doesn't matter, it's the most fun and this one certainly gets the most looks.

I love the way your car sits....

My god these are all so beautiful. Finally whiteout has been trumped as King.

I'm set to trade my release day whiteout for this car on October 9th or 10th

Agreed. IMO, stone stock, the car looks as good or better than most the modified cars I have seen on this forum. I would be happy with it just as it is appearance wise. Add a header, intake filter, tune and better tires and it would be everything I would need to replace my MR-S if I was going to do that.

Is there any correlation between VINs and Series #. Does anyone know how many in manual and auto trans?

Looking to do the same wheel tire and setup on mine. Have you had any scuffing or rubbing issues with the pilots and trd wheels?

No correlation. At least not with mine.

No issues. At least one other person has this same setup (TRD springs + TRD wheels + MPSS) on the forums for their Monogram.

It did surprise me how good it looks in person. Granted I've got too much invested in my whiteout but if I had a lot of spare change or less of a modified FR-S, I would not mind trading up to the yuzu. The test drive revealed the TRD springs felt a little better than stock, the TRD exhaust was welcoming tone, the dual climate and other cabin features were cool. The TRD kit was easy on the eyes with its clean fitting and color-match weather stripping to hide any gaps. The exterior has already been done by Toyota (thumbs up Toyota!). As for performance, suspension, and the rest - I happily reverted back to modified whiteout. To the future owner of this yuzu or any of the 1500 available, congrats!!

The only fault I saw was this. I won't go into details as we all should be familiar with it. But I can only imagine it becoming worse during ownership or modifications. It only had 10 miles on the odo before I added a few more. Toyota should have fixed this by now.

Took delivery yesterday, definitely better to see in person.

So glad I bought it!!!

Up next is tint, changing tails to clear toms, trd rims, and CAI/air filter in the upcoming months.
