I quite like the clock. No muss no fuss. Hour button. Minute button. What else do you need besides a lap timer? Sure does make daylight savings time a breeze.

I agree, this car needs the tan interior like the tS.

Interesting observation. I doubt it was intentionally designed for that purpose unless stated otherwise by an insider. It likely just turned out that a parts bin generic part was used on the AE86 as well.

Yes, it's highly likely when building a new platform from the ground up they used some old spare clocks that from their 1980's "parts bins" instead of designing a new one because they were lazy. So, while building the 86, Subaru realized they had not finished the clock section of the dash. They then proceeded to bypass their own "parts bins" from the 80's, 90's, 00's, 2010's and also bypassed Toyota's parts bins from the 2010's, 00's, 90's and instead went directly to the Toyota 1980's spare parts bins and said "ah, yes, here's some old leftover clocks let's use these since they're just sitting here collecting dust." It was intentional. I'm sure it was just one of the little things Toyota insisted be a part of the car.

Lemme guess, never seen it in person? I don't even notice the blue at all while driving... It's much darker than it shows in photos.

Porsche, Aston Martin, etc use red stitching so for the love of god stop bitching about a car that by all rights shouldn't have ANY stitching at it's price point.
