WRXes are more practical, and AWD. In the states where AWD makes sense for winter, they command a greater price. Whereas a light rwd coupe is going to be less practical. *shrugs* Just makes sense.

I think these cars are going to hold their value well compared to other cars in its class.

Don't even bother with KBB. Hop on Autotrader (or whatever) and do a search for similar cars within 300-500 miles of your area. Actual prices that are being asked (and paid/not paid) are all that really matter. KBB is a scam used by dealers to convince stupid people to accept awful trade-in values for their cars.

this, a quick search shows me that used BRZ limited are being offered around 23-25 in my general area. Considering i paid 28 for it new (not including taxes) this means my car has only depreciated 3-5k in the past 18 months. I'd say that's pretty damn good.

I think your numbers are a little low. I've been keeping an eye on BRZ prices as I'm hoping to buy a Limited in the next year or two, hopefully in the $15-$20k price range.

Right now on Cars.com, the cheapest (non-branded/salvage title) BRZ Limited is selling for right at $20k (Cars.com BRZs), and there might be something wrong with the two going at that price since the vast majority of Limiteds are going for more like $22-25k. Depreciation on these cars - at least based on asking prices -- seems to be LESS than on most cars.

I've seen only one in my area under $20k, and it had 100000KM on it and was out of warranty completely. Otherwise they seem ok up here in Canada.
