I'm 90% sure I have the CAN command to place the system into the same state as the pedal dance.

Need to do more testing, but my laptop battery has died so I waiting for a new one to be delivered.

I'm thinking that it would be best to package this up inside an OBDII connector. If you want that mode just plug in and forget. When you don't want it just remove the plug / dongle.

Plug 'n play!

Excellent idea! You already have power and everything else you would need. For the people that just had to have the device + something else running vis obdII at the same time, you could make it a pass through: http://www.ecutool.com/proimg/Smart%..._3599017_A.jpg

The form factor for that would have to be a right angle package, or you would need to remount the factory obd plug as it points down to your right leg.

It's made for a PCB but if you modified it maybe you could use something like this? http://www.aliexpress.com/item/OBD2-...FbRzMgodxG0A-Q

@troek do you mean obd vsc off devices? I have seen devices that replicate holding the button, but not enabling the pedal dance via CAN bus.
Can you share a link?

Cool. Thats exactly what I was thinking of putting together.

$80 is a bit steep.

Might still be worth making if the price is lower. Maybe $25-50?

Thanks for sharing the link.

If you don't mind sharing (pm is fine) I may be able to test it and possibly compare against what the Toyota techs use.

Somebody ought to write a plugin for the torque app that does this. It shouldn't be that hard. He has an api (I think) and stuff already set up. All you need to do is crib off one of the examples that makes something with a button and send the proper CAN command when pressed.

That buddy club thing is about $260 BTW. Parts for this should be around $150 max.

Actually the parts are around $10 in low qty. I build this type of thing all the time.

Utilising the torque app is a good idea, but won't suit everyone as it's not an convenient an I don't think most people race with their phone on them... do they? I dont know.

Actually the blutooth elm interface for the torque app illustrates the cost of this type of hardware. I bought mine for $9 free shipping.

Code is just std Toyota command.

I'm getting a little confused.. which one of these switches will completely disable traction control? I saw mig's button but he referred to holding down the trac button for 3 seconds.. and i believe that's not fully disabling it correct? only the "pedal dance" will fully disable it? So which one of these switch methods will do the same as the pedal dance? A link would be greatly appreciated
