When I was in HS I fell in love with the 350z in burnt orange. It was the first 350z I saw in person and always wanted one. When I decided to go with the FR-S last month and a hot lava 6mt was available there was no other option for me.
Luckily I kept a good poker face and the dealer didn't know how dead set I was on the car and got a hell of a deal!!!

Almost the exact same story for me! Went in looking for Ultramarine (to appease the wife). Saw the Lava and changed my mind FAST! They had no blue so I had to "settle" for lava. Gave a pretty good bargaining chip actually.

DAMN WHERE DID I PARK???????

But it is never the same orange two times in a row! Depending on light it can be almost brown or run a whole gambit of colours right up to gold. Sometimes all the colours at once even.
It does not photograph well sometimes though which was why I was looking for blue until I saw it for reals!

Not bright enough for me. It's too much of a burnt orange. You just can't do burnt orange in Oklahoma.

I would prefer this color:

Hot Lava looks the best in sunlight... Kind of like a silver, except I appreciate the creativity of HL. One of the top colors for the FR-S along with Firestorm.

Like all the names except maybe Raven. What the hell colour name is Halo? Are Halos white? Never seen one to confirm but will have to take their word for it.

Just curious. If I had the choice, I would go Lava or Firestorm at this point.

I have no idea what color "Hot Lava"might be, but it sounds less than masculine. Hence I would never buy one.

So I wondered what the GT 86 colours were called so checked out the UK site.
Here they are in all their glory:
GT86 Black
GT86 White
GT86 Silver
GT86 Red
And so on
And so on

Not nearly as creative as Scion!

Hmmm... Wonder why the dealer would shrug you off when you showed commitment to buying the showroom car... Did you come right before their closing time? Perhaps they had a bad Saturday with a bunch of tire kickers and gave up on another try, lol.

Love Hot Lava.

But, I already have another sports car in that color and wanted a color that would complement each other--side-by-side.

Would have loved a Hot Lava Monogram, but I think the color was discontinued by then?
