Nah, found long time ago when people lack fact, they resort to personal attacks. Any purile comments are wasted on me and a poor reflection on the ones that post it.

Engineering doesn't work on speculation .... it works 100% on spec and calculations. So lot of these post on how much my car make is worthless.

But as long as there are people that are willing to believe all they see on the internet, there will be tuners that should not be allowed to change a diesel bakkies oil.

I have never insulted anybody but I did ask for engineering specs.

I was wrong about Redline and RGM. It is Indy and it was my oversight.

Maybe some of the holy people here should get a life. It is out there ....find it

My apologies if I offended anybody, not my intent.

At the same time, pls don't post feelings as fact. You may be where you are because some idiot posted some feelings as fact and it was bought into. We can all learn a little from each other ....just tedious to dig through the BS to find the fact. Just because you don't like it doesn't make it incorrect!!

No dude, we've been very tactful with you, trying to be nice but you're just being a doos so all tact has gone out the window, don't come crying foul now.

As I've said, it's a small community and we're all friends on here, and in many cases "real life". We all learn from each other but there will always be that one wise ass trying to swim upstream.

So I dont remember which thread I had mentioned this but my car is really consuming Oil. I took a drive to Louis Trichardt (home) two weeks ago and I was in a hurry so was averaging about 180 the entire way. And when I got there my oil was around a 1/4 of quantity. Only noticed on sunday on my return so i couldnt get a refill.

Drove nicely all the way home and went to Subaru on Monday where they topped it up and said I should come back after 1000 kms to test the consumption.

Any ideas. Im about to reach 20 000km so i dont understand why it consumes so much oil.

Bud, do you check your oil level on a level surface when the car is cold?
You might get odd readings when checking the engine straight after a drive, thats why I never check at petrol stations.

My BRZ has hardly been using any oil but I know that my car had a hard break in when new which is exactly the way I think it should be. I have heard of relatively higher oil consumption from easy break-in's.

40k and no oil consumed.

I agree that it should be checked on a flat surface and at the very least under the same conditions, eg. after a drive remove the dipstick, clean, re-insert then wait 15mins and check. Then always check the same side of the dipstick, the one facing you...

I always check my liquid in the same conditions and like I mentioned when I checked when I was in limpopo it was close to empty.

Plus sometimes when I am driving aggressively I can smell oil burning but I am never sure if its in my car. No leaks what so ever though!
