Yeah I had a WRX and yes they are faster, also costs more in fuel consumption, cost more in maintenance, insurance, and upkeep, and definitely meant for families and people who need more room in there life. The BRZ fulfills all my needs.
I drove it at about 30% most days every day, even autocrossed it and had a fun time for a year. I like driving my BRZ at 60%-80% most days depending on my mood and having a good time all the time, and less money spent at the pump, and in maintenance, and in insurance. Plus I have a project car MR2 that leaves stock STi's in the dust... so that helps. I never had a problem with inclement weather in any of my car, you just gotta know your limits and not go into autopilot when you drive. So many people don't pay attention during there drive, that's why I like fun cars because I'm attentive during my drives. I've even passed a WRX in a wide turn acting like an idiot and cutting me off with no signal, powering through that turn and out he couldn't catch up. |

In the 11 short years I have been driving, it has always been in Maine winters...and I have had some bad ones. I am excited for a fun car with great snow tires, should be way better than the civics and camrys I had with bald all season tires...those were scary.

An AWD car with a decent system probably wouldn't have too much trouble with a bit of back and forth. The thing you have to remember is that there still really isn't much snow under the car itself, so often times all the car has to do is push through the mound at the front. I would know. I do this with my Outback every winter :P

Kind of like an earthquake but your house is still standing and the roads are not split apart.
