The stock tips are weak. I hate loud exhaust. Looks like I'm going to go for this mod. I want 4.5" tips though ahaha.

This thread is getting a bit old and worn but just need a bit of help on choosing which DC Sport tip is the right fit. A post in another thread stated that the FR-S exhaust pipes are 2 1/8" in diameter.

From the descriptions I was going to purchase the EX-1012 because of it's Inlet: 2.25" dimension, but then it says fits 1.5 inch - 2 inch of what??? One poster here said he had to remove the washers to get the EX-1012 to fit. So maybe the EX-1013 or the slightly smaller outlet EX-1010 is the one to get since it Fits: 1.75 inch - 2.5 inch.

EX-1011
Description:
• DC SPORT SS BOLT-ON TIP
• UPC: 757558509010
• Weight: 1.8 lbs
• Dimension: 9"(H) x 3.9"(W) x 3.9"(L)
• Inlet: 2.875 inch
• Outlet: 3.75 inch
• Length: 9 inch
• Fits: 1.75 inch - 2.5 inch
• Resonated: Yes
• Cut: Straight

EX-1012
Description:
• DC SPORT SS BOLT-ON TIP
• UPC: 757558509027
• Weight: 1.8 lbs
• Dimension: 9"(H) x 3.75"(W) x 3.75"(L)
• Inlet: 2.25 inch
• Outlet: 3.75 inch
• Length: 9 inch
• Fits: 1.5 inch - 2 inch
• Resonated: Yes
• Cut: Slant

EX-1013
Description:
• DC SPORT SS BOLT-ON TIP
• UPC: 757558509034
• Weight: 1.55 lbs
• Dimension: 9"(H) x 4"(W) x 4"(L)
• Inlet: 2.875 inch
• Outlet: 3.875 inch
• Length: 9 inch
• Fits: 1.75 inch - 2.5 inch
• Resonated: Yes
• Cut: Slant

EX-1010
Description:
• DC SPORT SS BOLT-ON TIP
• UPC: 757558509003
• Weight: 1.7 lbs
• Dimension: 9"(H) x 3.75"(W) x 3.75"(L)
• Inlet: 2.875 inch
• Outlet: 3.75 inch
• Length: 9 inch
• Fits: 1.75 inch - 2.5 inch
• Resonated: Yes
• Cut: Slant

Edit: After reading reviews and questions at Amazon on the EX-1012 and EX-1013 the EX-1012 is too small for the FR-S exhaust pipes. That's why those that purchased it had problems installing it. It's made to fit 1.5" to 2" exhaust pipes. The EX-1013 or EX-1010 is the correct size.

I have the EX1017B (Black, Oval shape) and they fit fine, been on since 2012. If you search on Pepboys there was a lot of discussion around the variants when the car came out. Lots of folks bought them.

How about a shot from the side, so we can see how far they extend back, (stick out)?

I had to cut one of my exhaust tips off too. I soaked both bolts in liquid wrench for 10 mins and Very gently unscrewed them. The screw felt like it was coming out ok but when I looked at it, it was twisted off.

Any way, they are installed and looking good. Car is dirty though, Much salt.

I do not have a side shot but I stuck them out about a half inch by choice so you can see the DC logo when you look at them from above. You can make them flush no problem.

I removed the 10mm bolt below my original tips, but I can't seem the take off the tip!
Any tips?

Should I just pull harder straight out? I did try already.
Do I need to hit it? If so where?
Is there something more than the bolt that needs go be removed?

Maybe try to twist the tip a bit as you pull it off. It's just that one bolt.

I tried installing aftermarket tips today. I sprayed both bolts w/ WD40, then attempted to loosen each bolt. Well, I loosened each one just a tad, and then the bolt heads broke off.

I don't have a power drill (just a power screwdriver), so I don't think I can extract the bolts. I tried sticking needle-nose pliers in through the back of the exhaust tip to see if I could loosen the bolt, but not enough grip/leverage. I might just end up returning the aftermarket tips and stick w/ the factory ones.

If you don't have the tools almost any muffler shop will fix the screwup and install your tips for like 20 bucks max.
