That yellow on the rs is awesome. I just wish that instead of the bodykit/exhaust they had offered the trd springs/trd brake pads, with some lightweight, black 17's and summer tires for 28.5K...that would have been great. (While still keeping the yellow paint, interior stuff, and HID lights)

I hate the people feel the need to express their personal opinion about a car on the forum.

If you don't like a car then just don't buy it as it's not for you.

Life is too short enjoy every minute with something that makes you happy vs the negative things.

But Wes you have to understand Toyota made the car a Scion FR-S in the states with that said they always hold back on the parts available for the Scion cars so that they can offer Release Series cars with the unique parts everyone wants.

They have been doing this for 10 plus years now it's not going to change anytime soon so customers have to live with it.

As for the people that don't like the FR-S RS 1.0 this so called hate happen before if I'm wrong feel free to correct me but I know this kind of posting happened before when the 10 Series FR-S was released also.

Can we say "Déjà Vu"............

Like or not it is a great marketing strategy. They do a lot of the visual mods to the car that guys are doing anyway like lip kit, side skirts, spoiler, exhaust tips, lowering springs etc. Then they add in some of the highly desired mods like HID, dual climate control, push button and special seats. Everything is OEM and covered by warranty. Brand it TRD which makes it more desirable to most people.

A car that an owner adds all these mods to will not command a better price used but because these are all OEM they will not detract from the value of the car and the special edition with the special paint will be more desirable because of being more exclusive.

I like it but I am an OEM+ type of guy. I would not pay an extra $5K for it but then I do not desire all those features. Great color though.

I wonder how many people that hate it are suffering from sour grapes?

yeah i know. just good marketing strategy. not the way i would do it. Either way if it were offered, most of the people would get HID and push start. They would probably gain.

The sad thing is, some of that stuff is actually in the base vehicle for this car in other markets. I agree with you regarding your sentiment on Scion's monospec policy which is the source of all these annual special editions...I consider it anti-choice and therefore I consider it anti-consumer. The Monogram I own should never have been a special edition, that should've been a trim level...and to top it off not a single area on the car indicates its a "monogram" or that 2000 were made. It tells me they were short of ideas for 2014 and knew the growing resentment against them not offering the car that's available in other markets.

Truthfully if I had to do it all over again, I'd go BRZ Sport-tech and likely get a better deal. I don't want the base car interior now that I fully enjoy the fully equipped car.

Yep pretty much, or they're just trolling everyone. Hey lets just make 1 spec for the frs. Oh wait, lets make a 10 series where you can only get HIDs and etc. Oh wait, lets do monogram so now you can get every color minus glowing emblems. Actually, lets make a yellow one with TRD kit. Watch, after all this madness and they're out of ideas, it'll all be options..

Oh well, it is what it is, either way I'm happy with my car, just wish they had options.

The Scion XB has more options available than the FRS... It has a performance clutch kit, performance struts, quick shifter, a few different wheels, and it has a BBK available for it.. makes sense.. because the people with the FRS- the flagship performance model on their line up wouldn't want those options.. There I was thinking the niche Scion offered to the market was you choose how you want your car to be...

Scions new saying "customize your Scion, but only with the parts we want you to have"

think of it as paying 6 grand extra for a brand new top quality yellow paintjob, perfectly fitted trd kit and a trd exhaust. Doing those things aftermarket to a base frs would run you more than 6k

Top quality... Have you not seen how thin the paint is on these cars? My hood looks like the stars at night after 30,000 miles. I've had cars with 200,000 with less paint damage.

I definitely can't say I've had that experience. Not yet anyway
