I'll agree that many members of their customer support team aren't good at followups. The one I've worked with has been and has followed up with info when he's had it.

However, I guess maybe he hasn't wanted to call you weekly just to say "yeah.. nothing new". I'd still like the occasional call if I were in that situation though.

Also speculation threads are just that.. they aren't SoA lies.

Okay the dealership said I'd receive a VON# within 24 hours. I asked them to give me something and this is what I got that makes me feel comfortable.

However, they should have provided you with an order confirmation which shows the trim, color and transmission you selected. It's a simple printout that also shows when the order was submitted. This is what SNE will use in determining when you will receive your car.

I'm pretty sure SoA assigns the VIN to an open VON at port and not at start of production. I'm pretty sure lean manufacturing in Japan does not care of what color, trim, and trans each person orders, but instead goes by general statistics of those and then just pumps them out in lots to drive down manufacturing costs. Having SoA, which does not control manufacturing, held responsible on tracing of manufacturing would just add another expense to the bottom line. In their eyes, it is not worth the cost because how often are people this anxious for one of their release. Remember SoA and Fuji Heavy Industries are essentially two different companies and communication usually always sucks between them. Just hope you get a 1-2 week notice

That's exactly what I, as well as other users on here, received from Patrick Subaru. You should be all set now.

However, not so sure I agree with their VON statement. I spoke with the GM back when I put my pre-order in on 3/2 and he said that SNE has a different system and does not provide VONs. I guess everything goes off of the date when the order is placed.
