Hmmmm ive used anything from nt-05's to riken tires, its easier to drift with cheap tires than more grippier ones. Honestly i drift with what i can find i go to discount tire and ask them for what they have available for my size wheels. Not really picky on a set that will prob last little to nothing.

I'm glad this car comes with Michelins. I swear by them. They tend to be so well balanced, light weight, and can handle some serious abuse. I'll keep these until they wear out and almost certainly go to the Michelin Pilot Super Sport thereafter.

yes they do but heres how it is, we have 200 hp so we need something that isnt hard to break loose in so cheap tires but sadly we dont get a lot of smoke when we do drift
to put on a show you need sticky tires because they make more smoke and heat when you drift in D1 they have massive amounts of hp because the tires have so much traction, and the only way to hold a drift on those tires is to have 500-600 hp

The best deal I've ever found was to buy tires on line at Sears after midnight sunday. I got tires for ten bucks each.

I plan to keep my tires till they wear out. The engineer probably choose this tire for cost, feedback, size, noise level, contract, and other reason. I know the lower grip of these tires will help me feel the car limit better, then compare to a more aggressive compound tire which will tend to snap more at limits. But why would you throw away a $700 tire set away...

@OP-
Look at the price/ratings of the OEM tires before discounting them... IMO the "prius-tire" label does not do them justice... http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSe...&filterType=oe not saying they are the highest performing tires, but they sure do cost a lot. Based on user ratings, they are certainly solid all-around tires. I will be using them until they are completely worn out before replacing... Part of this cars charm is not needing high-grip tires anyways. |

I'm going to take them off and put them on my wife's Prius.

step 1) buy another set of wheels and put some nice sticky tires on them for track and autox days
step 2) go about living the rest of your life |
