Don't know about that but the blurb is in the MT that was on the newstands last month towards the front of the magazine where they post industry news. I already threw the issue out or I would post the page number of the quote. That would make it either the September or October issue.

Searched motortrend for zr1 articles and there is nothing about a c7 zr1. Websites Like torque news have articles that say "Chevy needs to make a zr1 because of the hellcat" (laughable, hellcat won't be able to touch a c7 z06 on the track)

And a lot of people articles that want GM to make a zr1. But no statement from chevy that a zr1 is in the works.

Sometimes happens to the best of them with new models.

Well, I guess that means they know their target market with marketing like that.
Oh, and I was at the local track a couple months ago with a one-week old, unmodified C7. The owner had never driven on a track, so clearly he wasn't pushing the car very hard. After the first session he pulled into the pits and it was pissing coolant everywhere. LOL. Nice work, GM. Nice work.

It was not an article. It was a paragraph in the Industry News section near the front of the mag. Probably more of bragging about the capabilities of the LT4 engine than forecasting a ZR1. I would quote it but as I said I threw the magazine out after I finished with it.

Can you believe Fiat crapping all over Chevy?

(in an Italian CEO voice)
Oooh. The z06 can do 0-60 in 2.95. Well the charger hellcat can do it in 2.9! *cough* in drag radials *cough* *hack* Ehem.

People who think the hellcat are fast need to look at the dyno motor trend put up. All the power is made after redline @635 whp

Back on topic, ill believe a rwd 650 crank hp corvette did 0-60 when C&D MT /Drive and other third party testers get those same results.

z06 is faster than a hellcat...

Hellcat pulled their numbers on drag radials.

z06 on street tires (according to chevy)

Oh i know.

And your point is? Cars pretty much all make their peak hp at the end of their RPM range.

Drag radials or not, a 10.7 1/4 in a 4500lb 4 door car seems pretty fast to me.

Here's the motor trend link...

Turbo cars dont. My point is that everyone thinks the hellcat is the best peice of engineering to date. And its just a souped up SRT8 with a supercharger and dodge is making you pay more than if you were to upgrade an SRT8 yourself. Give me a hellcat and ill sell it. I didnt know the new hellcat came with two extra doors...
