Let's talk spring rates...
What are you all using? I have the RCE T2's with their 400lb springs all around.
I'm thinking a set of 350lb springs in the rear will help settle the back end in the high speed slaloms/sweepers.

Even with a larger front bar the back end isn't as "planted" as I'd like.

Whats your alignment??? That plays a BIG part of how the car reacts. I am at 1/16th Toe in Total on the rear. I have the same rates (400 squared) and 18mm STi rear bar.. Car is "Very" Planted..

I'm at zero toe all around. I'll try some toe in the rear before springs.

So I got my top hats now and will be installing them next week. I've got my camber settings figured out, but not toe.

Should I:
A) set 0 toe all around
B) set front corners to 1/32 toe out, rear to 1/32 toe in (I think I got that right?)
C) 1/32 toe out up front, 0 toe in rear
D) 0 toe up front, 1/32 toe in in the rear?

Option: B would be my choice... Toe out in front for better turn-in...Toe in on the rear for stability ..

Is it good to daily drive with that toe? I'll be getting an alignment before the next autocross

I don't like the idea of toe on a daily driver personally.

50+ miles of commuting with your front tires wanting to travel away from eachother, and your rear tires wanting to travel towards eachother....

I don't daily mine but have put extensive travel miles on it.. to and from events.. with no issues.. usually about a 750 miles at a time.. my *local events are about 275 miles round trip for me.. again with no issues.. Pretty even tire wear across the board. I have 3 sets of rim/tires but I always use one set for traveling and those are the Dunlop Z2's at this point.. I have RS3's and did have Federals but I am switching those to Z2 starspecs... since the Feds aren't legal next year.

I am a bit more aggressive on my own alignment.... : -3.2 front with .07 (toe out on each side, which is about 1/16th total toe out on the front. the rear is at -1.8 and .07 toe in again about 1/16th total toe in. And still have absolutely NO issues with abnormal tire wear..

That is pretty close to the alignment I am looking at. Would you daily drive with that alignment, knowing that the car also competes in autocross?

Keep in mind tires are not solid objects. Also take a look at the factory alignment specs.

Front:

Camber: 0 +/- 45' (0 +/- 0.75°) (Right/Left Difference: 0°45' (0.75°) or less)
Caster (Reference): 5°54' (5.90°)
Steering Axis Inclination (Reference): 15°31' (15.52°)
Toe (Each Wheel): 0°00' +/- 0°11' (0.00° +/- 0.19°)
Toe (Total): 0 +/- 3.0 mm (0 +/- 0.1181 in.)

Rear:

Camber: -1°12' +/- 45' (-1.20° +/- 0.75°) (Right/Left Difference: 45' (0.75°) or less)
Toe (Each Wheel): C + D: 0°10' +/- 0°15' (0.16° +/- 0.24°)
Toe (Total): 2.0 +/- 3.0 mm(0.0787 +/- 0.1181 in.)

Don't like toe? Better take every brand new car you will ever own directly from the dealership to an alignment shop. The specs recommended previously for toe are well within the factory recommended specs for the front and just outside on the rear.
