So now I've been thinking either 225/40 front with 255/35 rear
Or
235/40 front and 265/35 rear on 18 x 8.5 et45 front and 18 x 9.5 et45 rear.

Stock suspension for now

Any input?

So im going to be putting 265's on my 18x9.5 +40's. Just a question for guys that have done the same. Is there any noticable "performance" difference. Eg. Lower acceleration.

Thanks

255/40R17 As usual rubbing the rear fender/bumper tab but only on extreme circumstances.

So I'm looking to get a meatier tire setup... the 225/40/18's V12's I have on my Volk CE28N 18x8.5 +44 are almost done as far as tire tread and they don't grip enough for me with the SC I have installed. Also not a fan of the (slightly) stretched look but they came with the wheels.

I was thinking either 235/35/18 or 245/35/18 all around. I'm dropped about 1.8" on coilovers and running 10mm spacers in the rear. -2.0 camber all around but I'll probably be getting another alignment/ height adjustment when the tires go on. Any thoughts?

Ditch the spacers and go with either 245/35/18 or 255/35/18.

Looks great man, but just a word of advice, if you're looking to be launching the car any, the rear has to come up a bit. Anything more than a 1" lower in the rear starts putting too much stress on the rear axle.

Meaty Tire Thread

Thanks man, it's actually about 1" exactly, may seem lower because of the fatties lol. But I actually raised it about 1/8" on all 4 corners after those pics. Rides nice, re aligned it and I have 1.5 up front and 2.5 rear camber all natura(well front struts are slotted, maxed). I need to get control arms and top hats to get those numbers a bit better.

@yomny 2.5 in the rear is where you need to be anyway, just get to -3 in the front and you have a good starting alignment for good handling.

Thanks I'll keep that in mind. I guess I should aim towards getting the top hats to get the front adjusted as the rear is on the right track.

Hey guys, I read through couple pages, but I just wanted to double check.
I have Hankook Ventus Evo K110 255/40/18 tires and bought 18x9.5+40 wheels. Will this fit on both front and rear or is this too much sidewall? Thanks in advance!

that's way too tall. 245/35 i think is ideal but a more common tire size is 255/35

Use a tire calculator to help you compare your oem tire diameter to that of the tires you want to purchase.

I think it'll be too much, i have the 17x9" with 255/40 up front and if too low the tire will hit the inner front fender liner. You'll need serious camber settings and some good fender rolling it they could work at all

that is a bit too tall, it will look like a balloon.

you should either go with 255/35 or 265/35. but it also depends what tire, as all brands run different.

a 245/35 ideal on a 9.5 rim? you're kidding right?

it all also depends on offset, not a single person ever mentions offsets. i don't have crazy camber settings, or etc. granted my rear is rolled flat, but even with it not rolled there was room just have to trim the rear bumper "tab"
