Did I say it's horrible car? Or a muscle car? I just stated, if you like more power, go for GC.

Fun can't be quantified. I've been telling everyone i'm not getting the FRS and going back to vettes instead...its because i'm forgetting how much fun the damn car was to drive at the first 86 event.

"It's not fast, but you're in control. I like this car because it feels like I'm driving the car rather than just along for the ride trying to not make any mistakes. Don't change your mind."

Those are my words to myself every day...fast cars are fun, but the FRS is a different kind of fun, I can't say better, just different. I think anyone in the market right now willing to wait a few months (in case of short supply) should test drive one before deciding on a mustang etc. you wont impress your friends with numbers and 1/4 mile times, but you'll really be grinning on your morning commute.

So, i guess to keep it on topic, I decided on a C6, went and drove a couple, had fun, but ultimately decided I'd chose control over power right now...I want the FRS as a DD and as a tool to become a better driver.

If you knew anything about why Toyota/Subaru decided against not having a sunroof, then you would understand why its not an option on this car. For those that don't know, glass is heavy! What do you think happens to the center of gravity when you start hanging 200lbs above the drivers head?

Again, this is a pure drivers car and is going to have a better center of gravity then both a Nissan GT-R and a Ferrari 458 Italia!!

Comparing anything to the FRS/BRZ is like comparing apples and oranges!! There just is nothing on the market (used cars don't really count either) right now which is comparable to the FR-S. Nothing offers the same driving experience for anywhere close to the same money.

A sunroof isn't nowhere close to 200 lbs. It actually adds about 20 lbs because you have to subtract the weight of the piece of steel that resides in that area then add like 35lbs and plus the glass is not as heavy as you think.

Power was the only thing that you stated though Ichi. That's a telltale sign of being a Muscle car. Just saying.

I've driven a 2013 GT, and I have to say, that's a very fun car. I'm going to wait until I get a chance to drive an FRS/BRZ before I pull the trigger on a car, but the Mustangs have got my attention.

It's not 20lbs either. They have to stiffing up the roof, plus adds motor, hooks, etc. it come to be around 45~75lbs (if you subtract the weight from sunroof area steel)

You just assumed that. If that was the case, I would of used Mustang instead of GC. In your statement, Camry must be Muscle car too.

Yeah but 200 lbs was crazy. The reason I said about 20 lbs is because I remember the GC 3.8 base weighing 3,389 lbs and the 3.8 Track model which adds a Sport/Premium/Nav pkg being only 3,472 lbs which is 83 lbs heavier. And it comes with multiple stuff including the sunroof which at the most makes up about half that since the 19'' wheels weigh about 20 lbs more and tires weigh about 10 lbs more overall and it has a 4 piston BBK.

The sunroof on a FR-S would be small as hell and not heavy enough to destroy the CoG. The roof isn't design for a Panoramic heavy ass roof.lol

But your post wasn't informative enough.

Oh now, you're blaming on me for you "assuming" stuff. Lol

You should know already that everything written here (specially test drive reviews), you should only take it as a grain of salt. Some may be true, but that doesn't mean it's true statement. Some may feel totally different.

I'm just simplely saying, if you want more power, go for GC.

Yeah I've been seeing some good deals for 2012 Mustang GTs as well. Crazy that you can get 412 hp for $25k these days! I've seen ones with the Brembo package for about $26k.

I ultimately decided to pass though because the Mustang is too big/heavy/tall to give me the driving experience I am looking for, and its real-world gas mileage is pretty bad (and I think gas prices will only go up from here). I wouldn't blame you if you jumped on that deal though, they're good cars for the money

A local dealership was advertising a black GT with Brembos for ~$27,300 after manuf rebate. Look around, you should be able to find similar deals. If I remember correctly, that price was about right when compared against truecar.

Truecar estimates $26,464 for a Mustang GT for me. Brembo package retails for $1695 so it doesn't seem unreasonable to get it thrown in for around $1000. Definitely a good bargain if you don't mind the rental car interior and 17/26 fuel economy.

Ford's rebate program appears to have ended last week. I bet that's the reason you can't find those deals anymore. I think the rebate was around $2500, so it was pretty significant.

Find a dealer that's trying to off-load their 2012 models. The 2013 Mustangs have significant improvements buyers want (front fascia, increased hp, standard HIDs, etc.) so dealers might be willing to offload the old 2012s for a bargain.

Also, Ford is going to release an all-new Mustang for 2014, so if you wait, you can probably pick up a 2013 model for cheap around this time next year.
