the bottom line with the M3 is that although it is an excellent car, you'd better know a bit of car maintenance because if something goes wrong Gunther the german mechanic will gladly take your money.
I have a friend here who is excellent with stuff like that, bought an e36 M3 and swapped everything into a 318ti. the 318 is light and the m3 engine as well as reinforced bits the car required turned it into a dream. BUT you'd better know CARS |

Going to keep my GTI and when the BRZ gets here it will have a pretty high bar to meet in terms of build quality. I'm hoping the BRZ is a kick in the pants to drive and from all indications should be. I'm looking for my BRZ to be a modern take of my '89 Porsche 911.

Hmm, it's my day off. I think I should go drive a C5 Corvette Z06, Mustang V6, Gen Coupe 2.0T, Cadillac CTS-V and Honda S2000 just to make sure I've tested everything else I could possibly want for <$30k.

I was in the market for the FR-S because it would be my daily driver, not for "racing", if that's why you are buying this car then I would go for something "fast", unless you've got the extra G's to make it fast. I personally love driving the IS with the F-sport suspension, big difference from the non F-sport suspension. It also has an amazing sound system. Later down the road I would consider the FR-S again, to actually make it a track car, and keep the IS as my DD. As someone said, I'm not here to compare the cars, basically say why I gave in for another car, the "fun" of driving the FR-S would just not be enough to make up for the other things I enjoy when I have a 1 to 2 hour drive going to work and back home, 3-4 hours driving each day. I also do drive with friends in the back, I hate to have them too cramped up so the FR-S would've done just that. |

While i've been waiting i've been looking at FD RX7's, same weight (2800lbs) but with much more power stock and even more with simple bolt ons. But that car is even older than my M3... Anyway i guess i'll just have to wait and see how the test drive goes. |

I have been a fan of the FR-S since it was first announced back in (08?), but I did just buy a 99 M3. As I said in my thread it really came down to the fact that if I buy the FR-S I will not only be spending two years worth of my motorsports budget on the car, but I will be too worried about wadding the car up on track--and when you worry or are scared, you make mistakes...I still haven't cancelled my FR-S order or gotten my deposit back yet...so there is still small chance of getting that too (if I sell my tC before the FR-S comes in).
I originally wanted to pick up a late-80s E30 (like a 325is) but for not much more money I got a better chassis, suspension, and motor in a sleeker package. I am picking the car up in Atlanta on Friday, going to The Mitty on Saturday, then driving back to PA to start prepping it for track duty.

Hey new here. I have been waiting patiently for the Scion FRS, however, a fantastic deal just fell into my lap. A 2012 Ford Mustang GT, brand new(25 miles), black, for 25,400! I really am not sure that I can pass up such a crazy good deal. My insurance quote was only 680 every 6 months. Any advice would be appreciated!

Yes!
I bought a 99 VVTLi 6spd manual celica. Metallic blue with black and blue trim in immaculate condition. It is a lot of fun to drive and I could buy 5 of these for the price of 1 ft86/BRZ. I wonder what an ft86/BRZ will be worth in 14yrs. Wether it be a dud or a classic , it will still be "fun to drive". |

The GC isn't only about power. I love how everybody calls it a muscle car/pony car yet when I drove a 3.8 Track it felt like the 06 G35S coupe I drove which also left a big smile on my face during the test drive. Now I don't know about the 2013 models.
