But yeah, I'll run the stock suspension for a while, and figure out my options a bit later, adjustable from stock to 1.5" lower would be a nice adjustable option, but we'll have to see whats out there.

I did have the matrix 1.5" lower than stock, and it was ok for winter. Just needed to be extra cautions on some parking lots / driveways. It's basically the same caution as our summer driving lol, these roads are $#@!ed right up.
I used to live in Prince George. Drove a Civic until Feb on no-name summer performance tires until I could afford some Crappy Tire winters (young and poor, the memories...). That was exciting/scary. It was like super slo-mo rally driving.

I hate the smell of PG. I roll the windows up if I ever have to drive through there (to get to Vancouver usually).

I ended up getting a steal of a deal on my X-Ice tires from the Honda dealership in town, so winter wasn't so bad in my Kia lol.

But yeah. Winter, snow banks 6 ft high, I love it. I honestly do enjoy winter, we just need better snow removal than what we currently use.

Uhm...what about a lightweight, revvy mid/high hp car?

Hmm, I would probably go with:

-short throw shifter
-I/H/E
-coilovers
-speakers
-cheap rear wheels+tires to go drifting

... and later down the line

-lip kit
-sway bars
-stickier tires
-better wheels
-racing seats
-upgraded turbo
-tune
-clutch, flywheel
-suspension bushings
-oil cooler, transmission cooler

etc. Basically I'll be DD it and when I'm able to I'll turn it into a weekend warrior.

1. buy 2GR-FSE
2. replace FT-86 engine

I dunno, I think 300whp is a nice target for a car like this. Yeah, I guess it could happen if it comes turbo but NA would be nice. Just a thought.

Intake, glasspacks, coil-overs, sway-bars aka anti-roll bars, E85 conversion. Prolly a small wing on the back nothing very tall or wide. On the track like for an autocross I'd probably run a parkbench wing but not on the street therefore I'd need two trunks to accomplish that.
Besides improving response on the DBW, relocating the battery and removing all of the engine bay covers, maybe just a scangauge for readouts and a couple more gauges. I'd also like to get a electric locking differential in addition to Limited slip like the Auburn unit. That would rock my socks for snow/ice. We have some very nice hills here and we get more ice than snow.

Depending on how it sounds and what's available I'll prob just go with a I/h/e setup

This is probably one of the mods I'll do.. I never liked the way new cars have everything covered nowadays, I always liked seeing what makes my cars run.

Other than that, depends what the engine configuration is, probably an exhaust, maybe an EBC, depending on what kinds of results other people get with it. Maybe new wheels, something that will sit pretty flush and look great.
