Im sure you could run it locally without any arguments. It doesn't provide any real performance benefit. (nationally, someone would likely pull a weenie protest on that)

Been running the Strano front bar with stock endlinks for about a year and a half now. No clunking or other issues with it at all.
I'll probably continue to run in CS for at least another year or two with my BRZ, but if I keep it longterm, I'll gradually make the move to STX.

Just some feedback here. My setup is perrin front bar on full stiff, 17x7 RPF1 +42 with Direzza Z2's. I finished 6th out of 8, but this is my 2nd event after not playing for 8 years. I let a friend of mine drive the car in the fun runs after the event, 2nd car out, course wasn't destroyed yet, he was 1.5 seconds quicker than the CS winner with me in the passenger seat. He finished 3rd at nats in BS in his Miata. So my car is capable of winning/ trophying locally. I just need to find the talent. His comments were, this thing is easy to drive, leave it alone and just drive it. His miata is for sale btw, if someone is wanting to jump ship. He's moving to STF in an RSX. I'm going to leave the car alone and just drive it.

The Strano front bar wasn't too bad to put in, I did it in the evening and used the OEM end links. Was very careful about lining it up carefully before reassembly and end result was no issues. No clunks or popping.
I did have to round out the squared corner of the front sway to give it a little more clearance to the driver side lower control arm, but I didn't see any clearance issues other than that. So far so good. You can test and check clearances with the car on jacks. Just put a jackstand or something under the control arm (with a wood block or hockey puck). Put everything back together. Lower and raise the car using the jacks. The jackstand will move the control arms as the car changes height. Monitor the sway bar as it pivots around, see if there are any clearance issues. Adjust as needed. Once you get it setup the way you want, attach the collars so the swaybar doesn't walk. Reassemble and you're done! |

IMO the polybushings that come with these bars are too tight. I sanded decent amount of poly off of both the Strano's bar and Whiteline's rear bar.
Big difference when rotating the bar in the bushings, before and after sanding. |

The only thing that kept me from wanting to run "stock" class was cost of tires to be somewhat competitive. This is why STx classes took off, economical rubber, and you didn't have to have 2 sets of wheels to play and win locally.

The fit on the Perrin bar is spot on, no issues installing it, no clunks. Took about 45 minutes using a drive on lift.

Ditto, this is what I'm using, and I have no issues at all....the bushings are a bit sqeaky in cold weather, but that's to be expected with poly bushings over rubber.

Haven't heard any noises or squeaks from the bar and I was very generous with the marine style grease they shipped with it.

Anyone know if the RS 1.0 is being discussed on any level? there was some discussion about it awhile back but it was all speculation.
Actually thinking about trading it in because I've always that yellow colour and it would be a hellovalot cheaper to have a factory painted car (plus all the other bits, obviously).

Other than springs, what does it add that is more useful in stock class? Aero isn't going to do much, wheels aren't different, exhaust is already legal. |
