I live in Fairbanks Alaska and my friends with FRS needs studded tires as where I only need Blizzaks. No FRS/BRZ is gonna go through thick snow like a WRX, PERIOD. It is not gonna go through a non paved road up here for sure, I can promise you that. Turbo cars are not fun DD, you must be kidding. 265 hps AWD is not fun? Ok. Don't even start with BRZ limited with $25k, its way much more then that. Same price as a WRX Premium. Push start and all the other nonsense is only 2k more. No WRX comes out to $34k even with the limited trim and Audio/push start package. $34k is already STi territory. I think you better do some more research first guy.
Not sure this is really worth the effort, but here goes:

1. The WRX teaches the driver that to optimally corner, they should mash the gas the entire way through. The BRZ, on the other hand, teaches the driver that they can rotate the car using the throttle. Being able to use the throttle as a tool while cornering is one of the biggest differences between bad drivers and autocross experts. A car that doesn't punish holding WOT during a corner is the definition of compensating for poor driving habits.

2. If you read my post, I clearly said that a BRZ with snow tires is easier to drive in snow than a WRX with stock summers. Most people living below Canada assume (right or wrong) that they don't need snow tires if they have AWD, so this seems like a fair comparison. I had snows on my sti and can tell you the BRZ is MUCH worse if we're comparing snow tires vs snow tires. But that should be pretty obvious...

3. Turbo cars are not as much fun to DD as high revving NA engines for a few reasons. They are less responsive at lower RPMs, which makes driving around cities/towns pretty unexciting. The WRX/STi also have much higher limits than the BRZ. Cars are most fun when driven near the limit. I can approach the limit in my BRZ without hitting speeds that would get me thrown into jail. The STI on the other hand, was not very exciting unless you were hitting triple digit speeds. I enjoy being able to rev my car out on demand, but to each their own.

4. I got my 2014 BRZ limited for $25,400 before tax. I purchased it this past February. And yes, you certainly can spec a '15 WRX well beyond $34k...

A base model is comparable in price to a BRZ, but the BRZ comes much more well equipped for the money

That's all I'm going to say on that. Not going to get into a **** measuring contest. Think you might be in the wrong forums, though.

Ok then you need to qualify your statement...

Where I live we have snow and I'm looking for a reliable fun car to drive all year long. WRX surprised me with how safe and fun to drive it was.
We were going up the Highway 50 to Lake Tahoe from Carson and the WRX was easily taking that hill at 90 MPH, Speed limit was 50 lol. My Prius and my Dad's 08 Impreza has hard time going up that hill at 70, it's crazy how awesome the WRX is.
BRZ we drove around the back street and it just doesn't feel as safe and the rear just wants to spin out, which is a fun factor of the car though. It's unfortunate, the all wheel drive makes a huge difference at driving. I can see WRX owners getting more tickets than the BRZ owners.

Another thing, we test drove WRX automatic w/paddle shifters, and omg, that is so much fun, like in the video game.
BRZ was full manual, unless you are turning a lot during your commute, the car is not fun.
You need to qualify your statement with those caveats...

The following statements are VASTLY different...

1) The WRX is far superior...

2) The WRX is far superior for year round driving where snow happens and safety is a primary concern...

Yeah, if you compare a BRZ that has had 10-15K of mods, then try to compare them and see which comes unbelievably short.

...just as obvious as any 2WD car with SNOW tires being better in the snow than any AWD car with SUMMER tires. Definitely not a fair comparison.

Basically it comes down to this: They're different cars.

You'll probably prefer the BRZ if you:
-prefer autocross>drag strip
-rarely have >2 people in car
-rarely drive on unplowed roads during winter

You'll probably prefer the WRX if you:
-prefer drag strip>autocross
-often have >2 people in car
-often drive on unplowed roads during winter

But hey, test drive them both an see which fits you better. There are plenty of BRZ drivers in Canada with 2+ kids who hit the drag strip regularly. There are also plenty of single WRX drivers who live down south and Autocross religiously.

I understand your point but that is not what I was trying to say. I just meant these cars come in the same league. Yes if the price difference was spent in mods then BRZ might come off as superior. But yeah... I think you are right.

I know this is the wrong thread. But the STI isn't THAT different than the WRX in the grand scheme of things. Especially when we're comparing a BRZ.

That said, a base WRX and a base BRZ are about ~$100 apart. That's a fair comparison. Getting into a... well X car + Y mods = Z comparison car never ends well.
