BRZ vs 2015 WRX STI

Has anyone jumped ship yet? New sti looks quite appealing... I want to see how it looks in SWP. However, I want a smaller spoiler perhaps.

It's difficult when that car isn't even on sale yet

Would jump ship for this. Too bad Subaru would never make an STI coupe again.

Would jump ship if it didn't have the EJ257

The fact that people would change cars without any experience with the other vehicle leave me makes me sad

I'm considering to replace my primary car with this.

I would wait for the comparisons. The new WRX might give you 90%+ the handling and performance of the STI for a lot less money.

And you don't get that hideous wing.

The wing keeps the car planted at 120+ and it isn't nearly as ugly as the previous years. My 05's looks like a big black park bench. Worked well at 155mph, though.

I'd wait a couple years for the direct injected engine and all of the kinks to get worked out. I really like that there isn't a slapped-on body kit. It's all part of the regular bodywork.

This is all fun-talk with speculation. Not seriously jumping ship but the car looks appealing...

I had not seen the STI mention on their website so far. In fact, I thought they were continuing the STI over for a year or two alongside the new wrx. I personally like the hatchback models for some reason... although this new boxy shape would not really look well in a hatchback. The curves of the previous one did quite well however.

Exactly. I owned the first year offered USDM STi in 2004. EJ257. I cannot believe they are still using it for the STI. It was a great engine 10 years ago with the extra .5L displacement over the WRX EJ205. Now with direct injection and newer technology I was hoping they would have an engine making 340-350 chp.

I like the looks and some of the suspension new bits, but no thanks with the same old 305 chp EJ257.

They decided to keep the ej257. I wouldnt touch it with a 10 foot pole.. Stay far away unless you plan to keep drive train bone stock

I actually just read about this in the morning... Needless to say, I'm quite disappointed. I guess I'll keep looking.
