I'm using a WRX gauge pod right now. It doesn't fit great but I plan on having it modded so it will sit flush in the dash. I didn't go with the triple pod dash trim on the passenger side because it requires cutting of the dashboard

@Jrquinia, I'd be careful posting about selling parts here. I know it's the regional forum, but the mods here are strict and you can get banned easily. Just a heads up.

What's your feedback for the borla headers? Did you dyno your car after installing this? Thanks

Haven't gotten the borla headers sir, I'm just planning on getting one but decided not to get it because of the many cases that's going around about the rattling thing

Why won't you try our headers? It's called VDS UEL headers. Been selling them for over a year domestic and international. Great dyno numbers, no rattling, no back jobs ever. Sold over 85 pcs already

I would rather get the VDS than the Borla. It may have been resolved now, but early issues had flange warping, welds breaking, and flex joints separating. I'm sure VDS would match the warranty of the Borla. Plus them being local is a plus, rather than having to ship out a broken header back to the US.

Meron ba kayong alam marunong gumawa o mag-assess ng pang-ilalim ng 86 natin. My 86 have this knocking sound pag uneven surface yung dinadaanan ko. Nararamdaman ko sa steering yung pag knock.

Pinalitan na ng Toyota yung rack and pinion and intermediate bushing pero andun pa din yung knocking sound. Next na papalitan nila steering column.

Ang problem every time may pinapalitan sila may ibang sira na lumalabas. The first time nag karoon ng clicking sound sa steering wheel pag pinipihit ko. Ngayon naman 2nd dala ko sa kanila nadagdagan ng ringing sound at off center na steering.

Nahuli ko pa tinutulugan ng 3 mekaniko yung 86 ko naka-aircon sila sa loob.
Been reading stuff on different sites, Di pa nila ma-figure out talaga ano problem nito. I have this thing din when going over rough roads pero pag 10-30kph lang. parang something is loose in the steering column, that produces this clunking noise. It doesn't affect performance but Its irritating, knowing that our vehicles are practically brand new. Shempre expectations natin diyan walang ibibigay na sakit ng ulo. I've had mine checked with the dealer and ang
Sabi its normal with the design. I'm not sure lang if everyone here experiences this clunking noise...

I found this thread under Issues/warranty/recalls, and ito ang sabi nun TS after 6 months:

OK it has been fixed!

I had many rattles, initially the parcel shelf, which was fixed, and re-fixed 2 more times after 6 months each time.

Then the dash which had a strange rattle near the window (probably in the above pic), this was fixed with insulation, then again with more insulation and was gone.

But the car returned with more noise, a metallic type sound in the steering column. I was so angry, I escalated the issue to customer service.

The dealer removed my entire dash again, and I even test drove it without the dash, I have pics and videos LOL! A Toyota Engineer even visited and said it was all by design, no issues!

I was pissed! We could not pinpoint the issue, but it returned with a little less of the metallic rattle.

Today I had the dealer replace a panel near my cluster that was scratched. As I was driving out, I decided to adjust the steering wheel a little higher. I notice that it made a slight difference, but didn't completely fix the problem.

Then, today, as I was adjusting up and down, I think I accidentally accelerated and the break through. The bloody steering wheel also comes out, not just up and down. I am sure I knew this, but seem to have forgotten.

SOLUTION:

Anyhow, I kept adjusting the setting, and found a spot where the steering wheel wasn't touching anything, in terms of both up and down and also out towards me.

Believe it or not, the problem is gone, no more metallic rattle!

F#@cking amazing, I love my 86 again! I was so upset with this rattle, but now, finally after months, it's fixed. A combo or rattles and human error! All solved!

I hope this helps others out there! Cheers!

Haven't tried this though, but let's see this weekend if this'll work.
