All good!

It takes about 20-30 minutes to remove all the trim to get to the a/c and gauge cluster if you know what you're doing. Might take a bit longer if you're a first timer like I was.

For me, it was a straight swap job. The LEDs are all PLCC2 SMD which means they have to be unsoldered and soldered back on. There is one 3mm bulb in the LED bringness control switch/wheel (the one under your steering wheel, to the right). And I'm not sure about the door controls yet.

In total, there are about 60 separate LEDs to swap out. (Not counting the system lights which I left OEM)

The switches on the driver's side closest to the doors are bulbs.

Question

Hey Skorov,
Nicely done, I have just finished completing the centre section with 3528 SMD's, but noticed the colour looks a little aqua... not bright blue.
I was wondering did you remove or cut out the tinted grey plastic rubber from inside the light housing for each smd?

Although turning the dash light adjustment up helps it seem not to be a true blue as in the original smd color.

What do you want to know? The LEDs are of type PLCC 2. They are surface mount (SMD). To change the LEDs, I used a soldering iron with a very thin tip. To remove the OEM LEDs, you can either use 2 irons or just quickly alternate between the 2 sides of the LED until all the solder is melted and the LED slides off. (This can be tricky at first.)

Clean the mounting plates with some soldering wick and solder on the new ones.

Sadly I don't have any more pics. It's quite a big job so I didn't want to extend it by taking photos every 2 seconds.

Yea. The door ones are PLCC2 also. The only one that was different was the LED for the interior brightness knob. From memory I think that one was a 3mm LED bulb.

Thanks! Where there any problems that you ran into while swapping out your LEDs that you'd like to share, or was it pretty straight forward?
