I bought this for my Nexus 5 because of your post on XDA (I'm assuming)

Now that I use a non-magnetic Qi phone, I'm sad I can't use this without a case on my current phone ;(

That's tough...

Granted, in the twins, the cup holder is basically where my forearm/elbow is. Sort of a dbag move by the cop IMHO

I haven't had any problem with the adhesive on mine. I cleaned the dash with 91% isopropyl alcohol; bent the tabs on the mount so that they'd conform to the slight curve in the dash, and held it on with strong pressure for 2 minutes. Been 5 months and a week, still stuck tight as day one.

But yes, if you have an issue with the stock tape you can pick up 3M tape at any local autoparts store.

I keep my Bluetooth on and keep my phone in the trunk with my backpack....as much as I would like to say I don't text and drive, sometimes it is hard not to. With it in the trunk, I cant, so problem solved.

That sucks. Good to know. I put mine there as well. Hopefully your buddy wins his case in court.

Oh, I see.

I guess its just as likely to get ruined in the front of the car as well.

My concern would be if something happened, calling for help.

I have a Droid Maxx in an otter case. It is usually in one of these places, in this order:

In its clip on my belt.
In the driver's side cup holder area.
In front of the cup holders in the center console
On the Passenger seat.

Lumia 1520 Landscape Mount

Like this (minus the glare) ...

Car Dash + Xbox Music (good stuff)

Nokia Drive for Nav

The phone may not lay perfectly in the slot but it still stays in place just fine.

My ultimate goal is to get a phone mount for the dash and use the damn thing as a HUD.

Strong recommendation for this if you have a stereo with a CD player.

I rotate the phone landscape and then use this app "Car Dash" (with the space in between words) as a head-unit.
