Also to add to the boost debate, I'll have to check over my logs from winter/summer but I'm pretty sure I had up to a half PSI if not more difference due to the temperature of the air. Since a wastegate is not regulating the boost, its really dependant on ambient temps and possibly even camshaft timing/tuning. Enough to notice on a boost gauge? Maybe....
Boost leak test kit would be the best way.

That is definitely the best way to find one, once you know you have one.

boost is limited by the pulley size so boost spike/creep is not an issue with Supercharged cars (even with full exhaust and aftermarket header).. I wouldn't bother with a boost gauge to see if I have a boost leak, there are other ways to tell if there's a boost leak like some of you mentioned (noise, power loss) you can use one of the track app that reads the engine data and/or use virtual dyno to see if there's a relative loss.. I also wouldn't bother with wideband gauge but wideband O2 sensor might be good for the better throttle mapping.. I would be more concerned about the Oil Temps and Oil Pressure and monitor them instead.. FYI ,Torque App is really accurate for oil temp readings

Only that it isn't linear.

Don't get me started on the definition of linear. Just let the supercharger owners think what they have is linear.

I can't speak for the rest of the community, but like I mentioned before, when I say: Linear Power Delivery. I mean that the power delivery is a direct relation to the RPM.
Thus the definition I provided of the word "Linear".

You won't drag me into this discussion again. The last time it resulted in having to explain y=mx+b, and we all know that doing math in public is always a bad idea.

back on topic to the OP ignoring these ...y=mx+b arguments.....have you settled in on a build yet?
after finding out how long itll take to get phantom, i think im leaning between kraft, innovate, and JR. -JR seems to have the least problems(found on this forum to my knowledge) and seems to have decent speed on the bottom end. -Kraft is the heavily favored SC at the local shop i intend to get it tuned at, they have had alot of great experiences with multiple customers saying the same thing about the kraft model although(through this forum) it seems to have the most problems, most being small things tho like parts missing. -Innovate as the most low end power, and being someone whose just a DD, i wont find myself pumping that 6-7k RPM daily. However, like krafts, it seems to come with some problems that the JR kit just doesnt seem to have :/ let know how to work things out OP! im curious to see what ya do! for my own knowledge :] |

To the OP. Used vortech kit, tune, upgraded pulley = under $4k. Installed myself without ever doing it before. Its not that bad... just need a friend for extra hand and moral support lol. Good luck with your decision.
