Noobie question. Ecutek and brz edit
We have a 2 tuners here one uses brz edit while the other brz edit. But the ecutek is twice as much as the brz edit tune. Which should I go for and do I really need a tune? Does it really make that big of a difference.
My mods are. Uel headers Perrin 3 in cb Drop in. Final drive 4.56 Thanks everyone! |

If you going turbo the balance sways toward ecutek as they can do a few extra functions. however some tuners have developed alternate means of failsafe boost cut. without using unused sensor inputs like ecutek does. You might also consider an openflashtablet for USD $500 you get the flashing device and access to various tunes for free for stock and bolt-on modded cars eg headers exhausts ect . It very good value for guys not going boosted (although they do offer turbo/supercharger kits suited to their tunes) Their Stage 2 UEL header tune 91/93 petrol would be a perfect fit for your mods They also have a Stage 2 UEL tune for E85 if you have access to that fuel as well both included in price http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=71157 their website www.openflashtablet.com Last edited by steve99; 08-18-2014 at 11:29 PM. |

Or buy as Tactrix Openecu and get a custom tune or download a tune.b BRZEdit tuners won't usually let you tweak the tune yourself at all. EcuTek is good for FI.

@Bongertz, have you had your BRZ tuned already? im having mine tuned by Mark Bata aka @MFB using brzEdit hopefully this weekend. price is not that bad since I'm getting the Power Blocks also from him. he has been very helpful in answering my questions, one of the important things I consider in choosing a tuner. not sure who you talking to for EcuTek but consider that also how easy it is to talk to them and they should be available when you have questions or issues. and of course, they have to be good so you can make the most of our mods/car.

I'm not really on board with encouraging people to buy a Tatrix cable only to download a free tune provided by another vendor. I suggest supporting vendors who actually support this market, regardless of who they may be or what software/hardware they may use (exutek, brzedit, Openflash, etc).
