Find a higher stall torque converter or send yours out to be modified.

I'm planning on doing so, I was just wondering if anyone had figured out how to adjust the rev limiter when power braking...It would be nice to keep it, but be able to raise it to 3500 or so...

AFAIK the rev limiter is set to 7400 rpm. The only "rev limit" when power braking is the TC locking up at ~2000 rpm. Once the tires break loose you can rev to 7400 rpm if you want.

Unless I'm missing something about the stock tune because I had my car tuned very early on, what you want is a high-stall TC that doesn't lock up until 3500 rpm.

Maybe I should be more clear. When I say "lock up" I'm not referring to the electronic TC lockup but rather it's hydraulic stall speed or lock-up. It's not something that can be changed via tuning. The TC has to be internally modified.

South Side Performance has developed a higher stall converter. Locks up @~3000 rpm.

I think he's referring to the Smart Stop "feature", not the TC.

Here is a follow up on A/T launches. I was seriously looking into the above stall convertor but was holding off on the purchase until after my tune was installed.
I now don't need it.
With the tune and brand new Dunlop ZII StarSpec's I could spin the tire, on launch as much as I needed too. It launched so well that one of the EVO instructors commented on how well it launched. He didn't the car could do that.
I am NA with a skunk 2 CAI, Perrin over pipe back exhaust, 2 1/2". Temperatures was into the low 70's.

So what are you guys doing to launch it? Jam the brakes then the gas then just release the brake and go or is there some sort of technique involved?
