I keep hearing that we should get our BRZ in the beginning of May..I keep hearing May 15th

I think a lot of those wait lists will turn into actual VIN's with status updates within the next week. Sounds to me like Americans don't get VIN's until after the vehicles clear customs or something.

It's probably safe to go off of experiences people who bought Subaru's in the past have had.

That's what my friend keeps on saying (his family owns my local Subaru dealership) May 15th

The color and transmission are locked in for the 1st86ers. In fact they had us verify it at least 3 times now.

That's why we aren't necessarily getting the "first 86" VINs but only the "first 86" deliveries.

Yes, there should be cars on the ground in the US now. So they should have VIN information in their systems soon and start getting info to the dealerships.

Just not sure when that will happen.. I assume sometime this week.. I hope...

Wait until at least 5/15 to call, according to Grant at SOA. More than nice about it, but he stated realistically that nobody there will know anything new for another 2-3 weeks.

He also stated that there will be VINs associated before the vessel sails, which could put a damper on our vessel hunting threads.

I've got the first BRZ at Carter Subaru in Ballard (basically Seattle). I called SOA today and received my VIN, so that's good news. In terms of delivery date, all they could say was "by the end of May".
