Gotcha and I agree that the standard controls look like a throwback to the 90s. Again a matter of taste. I actually really like the minimalist approach. Tried a Focus ST and Dodge Dart while shopping and my option (know not every bodies) both were grossly overdone with gadgets , switches , lights, etc. Felt like I was driving a 747.

I find the auto function to be surprisingly good, that for me is worth getting the unit. One of the few cars where I don't fiddle around with HVAC controls, just turn on car and drive and I'll be warmed/cooled.

Yeah I like the auto feature as well. Set it and forget it...again, the dual zone I have never used (had it in other cars as well and never used it either Infiniti G coupe, Lexus IS, '14 Accord).

That's naive. It's completely subjective.

It depends on what you're going to use the car for. A "base" FR-S over the long run will be simpler to maintain. No complicated automatic climate control, no seat heaters to break, no expensive headlights to break, and they're lighter (even if it's just a little bit). But, a Monogram or a BRZ Limited is more luxurious, without a doubt.

It just depends on what each individual person is looking for - i.e. what is BEST for them.

I've heard that the new keys for the '15 FRS are nothing new. Meanwhile, the '15 BRZ's got a new key fob which is miles ahead of what it was previous years.

No idea about the key they'll use for the RS 1.0 since that will have push button start. However the standard 2015 FRS key will be the current key used on the Toyota Yaris and RAV4.

Standard options?

I'm happy with my MY15 FR-S. For a hair over $28k, mine has TRD goodies (exhaust, sways, filter) and fogs. I would love to have the push button start and the fancy headlights of the monogram, but for my purpose, my money was better spent on accessories.

Mine is a company car, so I pretty much had to order it as I wanted it. Swapping out sways and exhaust on a car don't actually own made little sense to me. I did aftermarket wheels and summer tires so I could use the stock wheels and all seasons through winter.

1) You got ripped off paying 28K for a base FRS with a couple add ons. =

2) Anyone not gutting their car for track use would choose the monogram over the base every time if it was the same price.

3) Base model owners be mad. Not as mad as base model automatic owners, though.

I was referring to the sticker, not what I paid. Like I said, it is a company subsidized car that they own, insure, cover consumables, etc. Given the same/similar MSRP, I prefer the base with add-ons over the Monogram. My coworker has an RS1.0 on the way. I could have waited for the Monogram or ordered an RS1.0, but for what was essentially my toy, the base with some TRD parts made more sense.
